First the Turtle then the Project Bag

I have a love of Anni Downs Designs
and have have a pile of her projects on my to-do list.
I am finally getting around to making some of them.

I have recently finished my pin-less Turtle Pincushion,
who still remains nameless and then this weekend
I have managed to finish her Project Bag
from her book "The Simple Life"

Pockets on one side

and it has a handy storage bag in the middle that flips from one side to the other.

and a needle book on the other side.

So this is two items down and I am slowly getting there with the stitching of her
"12 Days of Christmas" wall hanging.

This is only a small indent on what I want to make but it is a start.

Have a great day.

WIP Madness

WIP Madness

To say I have started a few new projects in the last week is a little understatement.

So much hand stitching on this one.

There are LOTS of 1 1/2" squares in this one.

Oh no, yes more hand stitching.

This one is a lot closer to being finished

Thought I might add some linen to these lovelies
but yes they will also need some hand stitching!

and I wonder what these are?

With all but the last photo requiring some sort of hand stitching I think it might be time to
head off to a local "Sit and Stitch" night tonight to see if I can get some done, oh but wait,
will I get anything done or will there be a lot of talking?

Have a great day :o)

Weather Vane

"Weather Vane"
is the next block in the
2012 Designer Mystery BOM

It was designed by Barbara Groves and Mary Jacobson
otherwise known as "Me and my Sister Designs"
and I have finished sewing up mine this morning.

Here are my first three blocks so far.

Santa Sack Swap

Also managed to get a couple more Xmas pressies ready to hand over to
Shez at the Bloggers meet this coming Saturday.

I'm off  now to find my pins and pincushion.
I asked for help to "flip" the back room yesterday (where I am sewing)
in a hope that the space might work better and since then they have been missing in action.

No one is owning up to "hiding" them on me and I
know they were her Sat night as I was using them.
hmmm ..... I could go buy more and while I'm there maybe some new fabric?

Have a great day.

Monday's Making

How was your Monday?

Mine was like this

Very Wet!
So much so that our back room became inundated with water.
Firstly on Sunday night .. around 10pm, then around 8am yesterday and again at 4pm.
So lots of mopping and cleaning that comes with water being inside.
Plumber arrived just after 5pm yesterday so hopefully the problem is fixed ... fingers crossed.

On a brighter note though :)

I grabbed this out yesterday

This is going to be for my Mum for Mothers Day.

I had to leave out all the light charm squares as the pattern got lost
and by 1am this morning I had a completed top!
Here it is this morning :)

I am pleased with how it has turned out.
Not my colours but they will suit my mum :o)

Finished size ended up at 47" Square.

Now when Miss Lily wakes up (she is having a bit of a sleep in as it's already 8.30am) I will hang it in her wardrobe (the only one with room) so when the desire to finish it off and quilt it hits, it is ready to go.

So how is your Tuesday looking?

On the weather front mine isn't looking to crash hot but hopefully I wont be on the end of a mop today!

Have a great one,
hugs, Sharon

In NEED of a Fix - WIP and MORE

Argghh ... It is school holiday time here and I have all four children roaming around doing their own things but as any mum knows that also means that there are others visiting aswell.  So in a quiet moment I may get down to just having the girls at home, Miss K, 8 and Miss L, 2 and in the more busier times I have all four PLUS and I can not put a number on the PLUS as it can range from one extra to who knows .................  I still love the holidays just wish they were summer holidays filled with BBQ's, sun and swimming :o)

Yesterday I had a "yearning" for a "sewing fix" and quiet time for me so after doing some research online I found just the right quilt to make.  No full pictures yet as it still very much a WIP but it does involve a Layer Cake and a few Yards of fabric all in the Fadango Range.  I LOVE this range and just happened to have it all in my stash :o)  Here is a sneek peek for you

One of the hardest things for me with patchwork and quilting is not having things in a pattern (everything in my house has to be evenly placed/grouped) so this quilt is a real test for me !!!!!!
A learning curve to teach me to "let go" so to speak. :o)

I hope to update you on this as time permitts.

LOVE my POSTIE today

Look what came in the post today

It is the new range of fabrics from Lynette Anderson Designs and I am in LOVE (yes again!)
This range is not yet available here in Australia but Lynette does have a few fat 8th bundles
available in her store.  If you are interested head over HERE and visit her blog.

I am making her Scandinavan Christmas wall hanging at the moment and am planning on sneeking a few of these fabrics in :o)

Also in the Post were these

A little bit of Christmas sewing and then something to add to the "to do" List

OK, my boys have just gone out so it is just me and the girls so we are off for a bit of girl fun before we are surrounded by loud boys being boys!!!!!!

Happy stitching,
Sharon
