FNSI Results

Last night (afternoon) I managed to finish off the project that I started

at Friends In Stitches a few weeks ago.

 

I cheated and machine quilted it as I kept forgetting to buy the thread for the Hand Quilting.

Just as well I got it done early as I spent the evening chatting and starting to plan a little holiday

so just excuse me whilst I go back to dreaming about some of this

and these

all with great company because I am so over this weather and need some serious R and R!

FNSI on a Saturday

Somehow I missed FNSI this month so I had a

SASI (Saturday Afternoon Sew In) instead.

First up I need go back a couple of days and share Block 9 of my

Designer Mystery BOM

And here are the first 9 blocks

Then today I worked on Blocks 10 and 11

And this is how things look now :o)

Block 12 is in transit from the US.

This means that next month the new

Designer Mystery BOM starts

I cant wait to see and start this one. It will be in beautiful Avalon

fabrics by Fig Tree.

I also found a temporary home for my Marcelle Medalion Quilt :o)

I'm off now to join my Northern Hemisphere friends for their
FNSI and go sew some 1" Hexagons

Marcelle Medallion Quilt - Part Two - FNSI

This is the only project that I am currently working on that peaked my

interest last night for FNSI so I ran with it.

I chose to share my progress last night on Instsagram

(@lilabellelane) and here is how it went :o) 

The next border is triangles.

Then I decided to audition some fabrics for the next border.

 I love how it is coming together so far.

I decided to make this border bold as I didn't want

to loose it in between the triangles and next border.

Next is a border of Flying Geese.

I considered doing something else as I really do not

like making Flying Geese but I stuck with them.

Trimming is the worst bit.

 Especially when you cant count and end

up 13 short!

(Not doing to bad with someone who has their finger still bound and numb)

This is how it looks right this minute (below) :o)

I am itching to get in and sew this border on and start working 

on the next one - bricks :o)

This quilt is addictive and I am LOVING it :o)

Friday Night Sew In Results

I am pleased to say that I did manage to finish
the flower border of my
Lancaster Quilt.

I then got this one out to do a little more stitching.

No sewing has been achieved today but
I have made a batch of Chicken Noodle Soup.
It always makes me feel that little bit better.

A Busy FNSI

How was your FNSI?

 

Mine was busy.

 

I started by prepping my last strip of the Vignette Mystery Quilt

to take with me to the Blogger meet today,

hopefully I might get a little done on it in between talking  :)

 

Then decided that I needed another project, "Just in case" ;)

I wasn't going to start this one until next year, oh well! :)

FNSI Report

During the day I finished quilting my Vintage Modern project
And made the binding.

Then last night I attached the binding and
It's now waiting for me to hand stitch it down.
I then turned my attention to this

Zipper Pouch No. 2 and 3.

I am super pleased with how they turned out
and I an loving the rainbow hexes.

The week that was .......

These two went out in the mail to a swap partner  ... but who?

I had a win over on Fee's blog and these arrived this week,

thank you very much. I am looking forward to playing with them.

I love it when birthday's just keep on going and the lovely Narelle

sent me these as part of the FQ Swap Birthday Club.

and after my little drive to Melbourne today to see my 

Cardiologist I got to come home to these lovelies :o) 

The next blocks for the Fat Quarter Shops Designer Mystery BOM and 

Merry Merry Snowmen and my new Pincushion. My missing one 

has not shown up so Annie's Turtle it is :o)

There were a couple of other things in the package from

  The Home Patch aka Hatched and Patched 

but I can't share those as they are for a swap. 

I just need to get working on them ;o)

Don't forget, tomorrow night is

Also, the Victorian School Holidays start tomorrow 

so this will swing one of two ways for me.

I will either get a head start on my FNSI being the kids are home and settled earlier

 or I will struggle as all routine will be thrown out the window for two weeks!

My hope is that I can at least get the last three of my Great Granny Squares finished

as they have been patiently awaiting my attention for the last month :(

FNSI = Another Snowman

Merry Merry Snowman BOM

I used my FNSI to finish Block 4 of my 

Merry Merry Snowman Quilt.

I think that the Snowmen on the Quilt are so cute and the

fabrics are such a pleasure to work with.

I am leaving off the buttons until after it is quilted.

I am hoping to get the next block out and start piecing it later today.

I'm off to go and see some of the other projects 

that have been worked on as art of the FNSI.

New project and the WINNER is.....

Just a little sewing this week

Wow it really has been a quiet week for me on the sewing front and just as I was starting to feel better we had to rush Miss Lily off to the Doctor.  I am now learning very quickly how to deal with Croup.  Definitely not something I would wish upon anyone, parent or child.  

Pretty much all of my day yesterday was spent with my little one curled up on my lap until dad got home and she quickly changed spots and dad got the cuddles for the rest of the night. Happened to be great for me as I appreciated the break and it also allowed me to do something for the FNSI.

I pulled out a UFO. It has been a LONG time since you or I have seen this one.

 Once Upon a Time BOM

and pieced together the last two blocks.

They are now ready for some attention when the mood strikes.

I am a little behind on my 

Merry Merry Snowman BOM 

so I also pieced block 4

now block 3 and 4 are sitting there awaiting me when the mood strikes.

My little table is starting to get a real pile of stitching on it now with the above blocks as well as 4 blocks for the Vignette Mystery Quilt and a little something for one of the Christmas Swaps I'm in. Hope my Mo-jo for some hand stitching finds me soon.

Ohh, see the Tilda's Christmas Ideas Book at the top, it arrived yesterday ... Love it!

might just have to get the others now.  I have also admired from afar but think I am now

converted and in love :o)

I also managed a little retail therapy on Thursday

 and these goodies came home with me

I have plans for the solids and the top two DS Fabrics I just couldn't resist.

I have also decided on a "flavour" for my quilt as part of the 

Soda Pop Quilt-a-long, 

 Rainbow Slushee.

If all goes well I might be able to get a start on it after 

I make this weeks Bottled Rainbow block.
