10 Quilts Down!

This is my 10th Quilt finished this year!

Please allow me to "show off" my
Merry Merry Snowmen Quilt

I fell in love with this Quilt the moment I first saw it and
I am super excited to have if finished and up on the
wall before December 1st.

Quilt Stats
Merry Merry Snowmen
Designed by Anne Sutton for Bunny Hill Designs
Fabrics - French Generals' Rounneries Deux
Finished Size - 62" x 66"

This is my second large Christmas Quilt.
You can see the other off to the right of the photo above.

I don't "technically" need another Christmas Quilt.
After all I do live in Australia and the temperature
usually hovers around the 40deg mark at Christmas BUT
if I see another I like I am sure I will be tempted again :o)

That leaves another project box empty but don't worry it wont be
empty for too long :o)

Thank you for sharing the journey of this quilt with me.
If you are interested in making this one the Fat Quarter Shop
do have some kits left HERE.

hugs, Sharon

So Close

I have sewn together the blocks for my
Merry Merry Snowman Quilt.

Fingers Crossed that the border fabrics will be here next week
so I can finish it off and have it up on the wall this Christmas.

"So Close" to a finish.

Have a look at how much fabric I have left over to play with :)

As you can see the FQ Shop are very generous with the fabric in their BOM's
The fabric still in the bags is from the monthly instalments that I haven't touched
and I managed to piece two months without opening that months fabrics.

I am so looking forward to playing with these scraps :o)

12" Mini Club - Christmas Edition

I have finished off the Mini that I have made for my Secret Partner in the
12" Mini Club Swap.  I like to have my Christmas Decorations go up 6 weeks before
Christmas (roll on Tuesday. I have got the tree out of the shed and it is sitting,
waiting for my attention) so in case my partner does the same
I have mailed it off to her this week.

Are you in this swap?
Could this be for you?

Lastly,
allow me to say a huge

"Happy Birthday Glenn"

We had fun decorating the cake.
Just as well he is not scared off by pink :)

Hugs, Sharon

Be warned I am going to mention that "C" Word

There is a little bit of the festive season sneaking up on you in this post - Be warned :o)

Have you noticed some little changes?
Christmas themed changes?

I have added a little Christmas counter up top and
what do you think of the little alteration to my header?

Christmas is also being planned for in our home,
Yesterday we rearranged the lounge room in readiness
for the Christmas tree but don't worry it wont be going up until
6 weeks before Christmas :)

There is also some Christmas Sewing happening that I can share.

First up is the stitching that I had planned for Friday night that I finished last night.

Block 9 of  Merry Merry Snowman.

The plan for tonight is to work on Block 8 and then sit back and wait for the final
instalment later this month which is borders then to think about the quilting.
I would love to have it finished and up on the wall this year.
Fingers crossed.

Here is a sneak peak of the 12" Mini that I am working on for the above swap.

It is a secret swap so it's safe to post here.
Are you in this swap?
Maybe this one is for you :)

Advent Swap

I have finalised all the gifts.
Have them wrapped and labelled.
Just need to box them up and get them ready to post later this month.

Hoop-la-la Swap

I have finished this one also but can't show you much more than this at the moment.

I hope that my partner likes the use of two hoops.

OK, should stop playing with my new toy and do something a little
more constructive :o)

hugs, Sharon.

How was your FNSI?

Mine went a bit like this.
Great Granny
got a look at first. I had three left to make

Now I have two as I got a little distracted and got my

"My Favourite Things"
quilt top ready to quilt

then moved onto my
Merry Merry Snowman
Quilt and pieced block 8 and hung it with block 9

then decided to get the appliqué ready

This is the block that "sold me" on this quilt and I still love it :o)

Now both blocks are ready to stitch.

Lastly, I went back to this.

I found these Quilt Clips yesterday at Spotlight.
How did I not know about them?

I then finished off my night with a glass of wine and some quilting.
First a bit of "in the ditch" then some outlining of the Appliqué.

Looks like my plan of attack this weekend will  should be more work on this one
but with my track record last night who knows!
Off now to grab a coffee and to see what everyone else got up to.

Have a great weekend.

BOM Progress

Merry Merry Snowmen

I took Block 7 with me last night and managed to finish it off.
Not bad I thought considering the amount of chatter  :)

The block isn't lopsided in real life!
I just took wonky photos and am to lazy to go and take another :o)

So that brings me up to date on this project as Block 8 begins it's journey to me.
I have also marked next months "Sit and Stitch" on the calendar.

Have a great day.
I have some last minute stitching to do for Daylesford tomorrow.
I am looking forward to another day out with like minded people :o)

Sorting and Sewing

I have a few new projects that I an itching to get started on

but have told myself  that I need to finish / get caught up on
a few other things first, so her is a round up of what I have been up to this week.

Sorting the Sewing Space
(nope never found those pins or the pincushion)

This is "my side" of the back room.
The other side is the kids space for the PlayStation etc.

Fabrics unpacked, stacked and ready to go.

This is a "keeping it real" shot.
I am certain it will get in more of a "creative mess" than this
and I have also claimed the top two shelves of the bookcase!

I am trying to motivate myself to get back into my
Farmer's Wife Quilt by "displaying" it :o)

As for actual sewing, I have been working on my

Merry Merry Snowman

With the arrival of Block 7 I thought I had better get a move on with this one.

Above is Blocks 1 - 7
Blocks 4 - 7 were prepared ready to be sewn in this pic and it you look up
a few pics you will see that I have started to cut and piece block 9.
The FQ Shop is very generous with the fabrics in their BOM's
that I have the fabric to start this block already.

Here are Blocks 5 and 6 finished.
Block 5

Block 6
Block 7 is now on my little table waiting for some attention.

Whilst unpacking I also found this little Christmas wall hanging.
All it needed was the hanger to be attached and it was finished.
So this is my only finish or the month and my only OPAM item.

Today I am going to play with these

Enjoy your day doing something you love.

School's back!!!!!

Yay.....School is back and at last I can hear myself think!

Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and all, but these holidays have been testing.
I know it doesn't help that I'm not well and we still have
no answers or solutions just yet but I am so over the
"drowning" noise of the play station and whose turn it is next!

So welcome back routine :o)
I missed you :o)

Would you like to see what I have done, sewing wise over the weekend?

I have cut all the fabrics for the remaining blocks for my
"Great Granny Squares" Quilt.
I am planning to make 16 blocks so three down and 13 to go.

I then made myself a Needle book with some of the scraps

to take with me to "Urban Stitches" - 5 more sleeps ... yippie

Then pieced and prepared the next two blocks for my
Merry Merry Snowman BOM
and added them to the pile of hand stitching projects I have next
to the couch

and after the kids left for school this morning and whilst Miss Lily was still asleep
I wrapped these ready to go out in the mail.

I'm off to grab a coffee and do some Blog hopping.

FNSI = Another Snowman

Merry Merry Snowman BOM

I used my FNSI to finish Block 4 of my
Merry Merry Snowman Quilt.

I think that the Snowmen on the Quilt are so cute and the
fabrics are such a pleasure to work with.

I am leaving off the buttons until after it is quilted.

I am hoping to get the next block out and start piecing it later today.

I'm off to go and see some of the other projects
that have been worked on as art of the FNSI.

Enjoy your dau
