Ready to go

Swaps .....

I had a productive day yesterday

My "a Little Bit French" Items are ready to post to my Secret Partner

I made my July Swap Blocks

I have also received my Modern Sample Bee Block from Juliet.
Thank you Juliet. I love it.
My Next Swap commitment is

Doll Quilters

Doll Quilt Swap  is a monthly Swap (You can sit out at any time)
I have received my parter for this month and I am looking forward to working on your
mini quilt in the next couple of weeks Kris.
If you are interested in joining this fun little group
pop on over HERE to join in.

F-R-I-E-N-D-S SWAP 2012 - SIGN UP NOW

I have also made a start on my partners gifts in the
F.R.I.E.N.D.S swap.

Two weeks of School Holidays start today.
These are my least favourite Holidays.
Usually to cold to do to much :(

On the up side, it is that much closer to

and the designers are posting sneak peaks of our kits, so exciting :o)

Which also means a weekend away for me and hubby.
Also means I really need to get a grip on my upcoming birthday.
It's not the birthday I have the problem with but the number!

Have a fantastic Friday

Have to finish it now!

Vignette Mystery Quilt

Issue 7 of Vignette arrived in my hot little hands yesterday :o)

and as you can see from my progress picture above I still haven't completed
the two centre blocks yet. I have stalled on the Appliqué.

Yesterday / last night, I traced up blocks 13 and 16

Not sure if you can see in the photo but I have written
the completed year as 2012!

I had better get to working some more on this project or I will be
trying to change that 2 to a 3!

Nothing like a self imposed deadline to (hopefully) get me going again on this project.

Next, a little

Retail therapy

Might just have to mix this Summersville bundle up with some solids for a play :o)

Also found these two charm packs on Ebay ..... eye candy at it's best :o)

Also arriving in today's mail is this lovely block and a mug rug from Jan in the
Quilting Block Aust Swap.

Thank you Jan they are perfect and this block blends really well with the
other blocks received so far.

I'm off now to dose up on some more medicine
(anyone want a really sore throat and a pounding head?)
and then hit my sewing space.
I have a couple of  swap blocks to make and a bottled rainbow block to also do.

Have a lovely long weekend (for those here in Australia),
and if you are on the roads this long weekend
please travel safe.

hugs, Sharon

Gift Cards? A WIN and a block

Gift Cards?

I don't like to give gift cards :(
Maybe I can be converted to change :)

OK, I feel just a little better about giving a gift card now.
Nothing like adding a little "home made touch"
to make me feel better about giving a gift card :)

I have used Annie Downs "Present Pouch" pattern in her
"A Christmas Story" Book for my inspiration on this one.

I had a WIN!

The wonderful Josie over at Dilly Dimple had a give-away recently
and I was the super lucky winner and my gift has arrived in record time.

Timing was perfect as I have been eyeing off this book and was ready to buy it!
I was also spoilt to receive 2 Curio Charm packs.
My little brain is already clicking over with what I can make with them and
I also like the quilt that Josie had in her post.

Huge thank you Josie

Josie is also so close to finishing off her Boy Story Quilt so why not pop on over and take a look.

another Block received

I have also received my May block from Charlene in the Block Swap Adventure.

Here are the blocks I have received so far from the Modern Sampler Bee and Block Swap Adventure Groups (and my fabric stash so I can start making some for this quilt also)

I can definitely see this Grey and yellow quilt taking shape here.

Might have also squeezed in a little more work on my SKOW - My favourite things Quilt.
I will try and organise the photos today and share with you soon.

have a great weekend,

Bit of this and a Bit of that updates

Block Swap Adventures

I have only been in this block swap for two months.
Here are the blocks that I have sent.

To Shannon for April

She requested a Wonky Star in any colour and I decided to add the improvised centre.
(Woops.... edited to note that I think I might have already shared this block on my Blog, sorry for doubling up)

and for Linda in May

she requested either Greens and teals or blacks and reds with no specific block design.

I chose to open my Modern Blocks Book at a random page and make that block.
If I didn't do this I think I would have spend hours trying to decide on a block!
I really like it but I am also liking solids and word prints at the moment :o)

Incoming I have received this block from someone .......
there was no info on or in the envelope so thank you to who sent it.
Please step forward so I can give you full credit for it. :o)

and I have also received this lovely block from Kelli as part of the
Modern Sampler Bee.

Thank you Kelli, it is perfect.

Mug Rug Swap

My Mug Rug has arrived from Anorina over at Samelia's Mum

I was also spoilt with some lovely thread and a cute note pad and cover (already in my bag)

I Love my Mug Rug and it has a new home already on my Mini Wall :o)

Thank you Anorina.

Don't forget that tomorrow night is ....

I know I will be working on finishing my Boy Story Pillow but after that
I do not know but if all things go to plan (Aiden and Declyn, are you listening? lol)
I PLAN on starting my FNSI activities when we get home
from the Specialist/Physio Friday afternoon.

Have a great day and I will "see you" some time Saturday :)

New York Beauty

Do you remember these?

They are the first weeks blocks in the New York Beauty Quilt-along.
I had a bit of a clean out of my sewing space yesterday and got a little
distracted!   The above blocks now look like this

Now I want to get back into the New York Beauty Blocks and make some more
cushions.

Also, here is the block that I made for my partner in the
Block Swap Adventure. Her request was for a "Wonky Star" block.
I have added an improvised centre. I hope that she likes it and that it is not
to modern for her linking :-S

Have a fantastic day.

Bee Blocks

Modern Sampler Bee

My Bee Blocks have been made and sent to the members of my Hive.
It was a hard decision but I decided to make the block called
"Four Acres"

All blocks have been made in the members color choices.
The one below was my test block, a block for me :o)

I have also made my first block (it's my first month in this swap) for Shannon in the
Block Swap Adventure. She asked for a wonky star in any color.
I can't show you yet as it is still winding it's way across the ocean :o)

I hope everyone likes their blocks. They were a lot of fun to make.
