Playing with Dolls

The Bendigo Doll and Teddy show is on this weekend
and I have to drop Jaxson off for judging tomorrow morning.
So I have been busy today playing ..... finding just the right outfit for him
 and getting him just perfect.

I was going to enter two dolls for judging but I have been feeling unwell, especially in the last 48 hours so I gave up on the second!  On the up side, I am feeling much better this afternoon.

If you are in the Bendigo Area or planning a day trip the details for the doll show are:-

Bendigo's 21st Annual Doll and Teddy Show
9.30am - 4.30pm
25th February 2012
Kangaroo Flat Leisure Centre
Browning Street,
Kangaroo Flat

I am pleased to declare my blog

Are the double word verifications annoying you yet?
Having trouble and needing to have a couple of goes to get it right?

Well mine is off!  :o)
I have had no problems with Spam.
The spam filter built into Blogger seems to be working at treat!

Why not consider turning it off on your Blog? ....PLEASE
after all, you can turn it back on and say that you gave it a go :o)

Enjoy what is left of your day
and if all goes well I will be back tomorrow to share a finish with you.

A new Baby

No I'm not pregnant!   But I have started a new project, of sorts.

Before I discovered my love of sewing and quilting I used to Reborn all the time.
(The baby in my Header is one of my many Reborn Babies).
Well I had the urge to paint again this week and being that my Linen press is full of reborning supplies
I figured, why not.

This baby is not completed but here is a picture of the unpainted sculpt and my progress thus far.

As you can see he is already coming to life.

When he is finished I will decide if he will be entered into the local Dolly and Teddy Show early next year or if he will be going straight off to eBay.
I will keep you up to date with his progress.

Happy Sewing and Dolly hugs, Sharon

Aiming towards some finishes

Lily's Picnic Quilt, Xmas Table Topper (matched my newly completed place mats), a Xmas swap project, my stitched Xmas Wreath and of course my Hexagon Quilt.

All basted and ready for some attention.

Some may remember that I have tried to quilt the hexagon one once before and it ended in a huge mess with me pulling it all apart so this time is "take two".  The plan is to machine quilt around the flowers and hand quilt the centres and when all that is done I will assess the situation and decide f I want the straight lines like Leanne has done on hers in Vignette.  Fingers crossed that it's "second time lucky" for this quilt top.

Summer warning for all.

I love living here in Australia but I HATE these ......

Can you see it? (Sorry I am looking away so that's a NO for me!)

Hubby was out doing the whipper snipping whilst my youngest son was mowing the lawn and he (my son) saw this not so little fella.  Eww .........

And on a brighter note, do you remember Ruby?

She is off on her long journey home to her new "Mum" today, all the way to France.
I love it when my babies head off overseas as it's like a little bit of me gets to travel the world.

Enjoy your day and happy stitching,
Sharon

I also have another WIP - My Window to Our Garden Quilt top by Li'l Blokes.

So far mine looks like this -

It is all pieced ... "Yay" ..... I need to dedicate some time to finish off the Applique (by hand) and finish painting the faces.

Scandinavian Christmas BOM Progress

Block 1 is almost finished.  I don't know how but a couple of the Churn Dash blocks had a mind of their own and did not come out as planned so they will be a WIP as the next blocks come in and I try to remake them.

~ and see what arrived yesterday ~

and today it looks like this :)

All for now. The next Birdie Stitches BOM is due out so hopefully some more work to be done there as well.

Happy stitching,
Sharon
