My La Passacaglia

"La Passacaglia"

The journey of my La Passacaglia continues.

The last of my large Rosettes.

I have a love hate relationship with the filler rosettes as some of them I just want to keep going and see where they will go because I never know when I start as to what they will become.

This is where I am up to now.
Only the white spots down the bottom to go and then some filler blocks to square it all up.

I was very fortunate that a few weeks ago I was able, with the help of an IG friend, find and source my border fabric so I have a renewed enthusiasm to get this one closer to a finish but at the same time I am a little sad that the journey is almost over.

Time to think about a replacement project

Until next time,
hugs Sharon

Progressing on "Passacaglia"

"La Passacaglia"

I have been playing with this one again.

I have joined my two larger parts together (above) and then set to working on a side piece.

and then two more Rosettes.

Fussy Cutting is addictive.

It is growing and getting so close to a finish.
I couldn't help but peg it up to see the stained glass effect.
This was the view from my dining table a couple of nights ago.
I could have quite easily sat there all night.

A closer view.

I have found out this morning that "Love Patchwork and Quilting" have put together an awsome recourse for this Quilt / EPP Fussy Cutting information if you want to go take a look.  I was also flattered that they linked back to my blog.  Huge thank you "Love Patchwork and Quilting"

If you are interested in their Recourse and guide for Fussy Cutting and EPP visit HERE.

Also, if you are in Instagram and want to see more regular, as its happening updates on my progress I can be found by searching user "Lilabellelane"

Here are some hashtags that are also being used for this project.
#lapassacaglia
#passacaglia
and all mine are tagged with #lilabellelanelapassacaglia

Happy stitching.

A little more on my "La Passacaglia"

Playing Again

I have been taking over the Dinning Table again for another fussy cutting session.

and have completed a filler block for the side

and another Rosette.

This time I have taken some photos of the fabric I have cut from as I get asked for this quite often.

The downside of this project.
What goes in, must come out.

Especially when you start to run out of papers.

La Passacaglia - Week 5

My addiction that is the

"La Passacaglia"

Wow 5 weeks into this project already and I am still hooked as much as I was when I first started.

Last week I added some smaller block to start squaring one corner up.

Then this week I added another 3 Rosettes.

Last night I sat and finished adding the Rosettes and it now looks like this.

And the progress shot to show where I am up to and how much further I have to go.

Looks like it's time to dig out the Tula Pink fabrics and start some more Fussy Cutting.

Holding my attention - "La Passacaglia Quilt"

"La Passacaglia Quilt"

progress ... progress ... progress ...

It's not too often that a quilt comes along and holds my attention so well.
It is all English Paper Pieced and I have the holes in my fingers to prove it! lol

here is a quick look at the 3 new Rosettes.

I decided to give the Racoons back their tails in this large Rosette
and I am liking how it looks like they are poking out under the stars :o)

Thanks for popping by,
hugs Sharon

What a Week

I have prepared 3 Rosettes and ready to sew for my
 "La Passacaglia Quilt"

I've had some more Tula Pink Fabrics arrive.

In an attempt to balance out the Bonnie and Camille Ratio to the Tula Pink Ratio
I went off to my LQS yesterday and picked up these lovelies.

I have cracked open this F8 Bundle. It's all ironed ready to go, into what I am not yet sure.

And I have decided that it is high time I finished off this boy so that I could start the
new pattern by Jodie "T is for Turtle"

but decided that he needed his friend too :o)

Hopefully by the end of the weekend they will both be finished.

But my proudest part of my week goes to both my Boys.
Both applied for jobs within a new store opening soon.
580 people applied, yes I just typed 580!
Both boys made the first cut down to 280 and the group interviews a fortnight ago.
Then both boys were called back for final interviews this week.
70 people being interviewed for 50 jobs.

I am so proud of both of them.
I took them both out for lunch yesterday just to make sure that they know how proud I am.
Regardless of how it ends its a huge achievement to get down to the last 70.
Well done boys.  Fingers crossed for you both. xxx

This Mummy gig can be really hard at times.

Thanks for popping by and until next time, happy stitching.

The Tula Pink "La Passacaglia"

"La Passacaglia"

The journey continues with three more Rosettes.

A closer look at the fussy cutting, which I am finding highly addictive and personally I am loving the results.

And in the grand scheme of things this is where I am at.

I have not touched another project since starting this project.
Guess that can only confirm that the addiction that is "The La Passacaglia" continues.

Thanks for popping by.

La Passacaglia - A New Start

"La Passacaglia"

I have been plotting a new start for some time now.
See that quilt on the cover. It finishes at 144 x 176 cm and is all English Paper Pieced.
There is a little quote on the inside of the cover.

Just as well I am addicted to this project already because if I had read that before starting
I might have been scared off!

The lead time before I've started this project has been all about finding the right fabrics.
Fabrics that have amazing fussy cutting possibilities.
For quite some time I have had a fondness of Tula Pink fabrics but I've never played with them.
Until now.
As you can see I have managed to collect a great collection and finally decided it was time to start.

The first Rosette started to take shape.

then 90 pieces later the first Rosette was finished.

Hello, my name is Sharon and I am well and truly hooked on fussy cutting!
Just as well because in the grand scheme of things this is where I'm at.

A long way to go and I'm excited to see where this project goes.

I need to go, Rosette 2 is awaiting my attention.

hugs Sharon
