My addiction that is the
"La Passacaglia"
Wow 5 weeks into this project already and I am still hooked as much as I was when I first started.
Last week I added some smaller block to start squaring one corner up.
Then this week I added another 3 Rosettes.
Last night I sat and finished adding the Rosettes and it now looks like this.
And the progress shot to show where I am up to and how much further I have to go.
Looks like it's time to dig out the Tula Pink fabrics and start some more Fussy Cutting.
hugs Sharon xx

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful and I am so tempted by the pattern. Just love the work you have done.
ReplyDeleteYour work leaves me breathless, it is so awesome. Are you choosing fabrics as you go? Are they from your stash or have you bought fabric specifically for this project? I would love to see some photos of the fabric before it is fussy cut. It fascinates me how you decide where to cut to achieve they incredible designs.
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, I loved seeing your La Passacaglia at the Millrosie Gathering, gorgeous work. Hugs O'faigh
ReplyDeleteTruly amazing! My brain cannot even comprehend how you are making this all come together!
ReplyDeleteI am loving watching this quilt unfold. I have the book Millifiore Quilts in order just in case I screw up enough courage to tackle this. I wonder if you could tell me how much of each of the Tula Pink fabrics you purchased? I imagine it is a fair bit in order to accommodate the fussy cutting. Given that I have only ever EPP'd one block in my life it is probably a little bit insane to even contemplate this project. However I haven't let a bit of insanity stop me in the past....... :0)
ReplyDeleteYour rosettes are gorgeous! What kind of software are you using to put the pictures of the finished blocks onto the blank diagram of the quilt layout? This is so much fun, watching your quilt top come into being--thanks for sharing! --Mariko
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me if you are using the acrylic templates to cut out your pieces? Or are you tracing around a template? I am trying to figure out the best way. And the print of the shapes in the whole quilt that is not colored seems as if that would be a useful tool. Did you enlarge and print it so you could play around with color?
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog. I am thinking of making this pattern myself and wondered, did you buy the paper pieces already cut from somewhere (a website called Paper Pieces has them) and did you re-use your papers or keep them all in until the end? I'm wondering which is the best way to go. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
