Playing Again
I have been taking over the Dinning Table again for another fussy cutting session.
and have completed a filler block for the side
and another Rosette.
This time I have taken some photos of the fabric I have cut from as I get asked for this quite often.
The downside of this project.
What goes in, must come out.
Especially when you start to run out of papers.
Hugs Sharon
It's looking great, Sharon. You're coming along quite quickly with it.
ReplyDeletelooks beautiful - I plan on making one too but I'm waiting on my pieces and templates to arrive.
ReplyDeletethis is just stunning...I really want to start mine soon, but cannot decide on fabrics for the first cog...
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe!! Are the fabrics from your stash or is it a kit?
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing and is coming together quicker than I had thought. You have a great eye for fussy cutting.
ReplyDeleteFantastic - you're an inspiration to all of us just starting out on this quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking soooo good Sharon... and getting closer to a finish with every extra block you do... so keep up the fantastic effort! x0x

Amazing, fantastic detail.
ReplyDeleteEvery block is more amazing than the last one. Its just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLoving this!!!!
ReplyDeleteHello, dear Sharon,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all let me compliment you for the gorgeous quilt you're making, it's fascinating, and I just LOVE it. Atually, I'm getting obsessed with it and I do intend to order the book very soon. However, may I ask a question :
- did you order the Paper Pièces pack to make this quilt, or is it do-able with the book only, without ordering the paper pièces ?? (money, money :))
THANKS a bunch for you answer, dear.
Enjoy your sewing !
NADINE
XOXOXO
This is so amazingly beautiful!!! In my dreams....
ReplyDeleteI was drawn to your site by your La Passacaglia project. Truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the comment regarding how you create the photo showing your progression. What a great idea.
Exquisite! I am just finishing a hand pieced, hand quilted traditional hexie quilt with 4,700 3/4inch hexies. It's taken me the equivalent of 1/2 year's full time work to do this, but is much more rewarding than most jobs I've had. But yours? Well, it's mind boggling. I know what it takes, even to remove the paper pieces after stitching them together... let alone the fabric choices. I love this post. Thank you! Maybe my next hexie quilt will include other shapes and be something like yours. By the way, congrats to your husband... good Photoshop work!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful! Love seeing it come together. Just a thought though, if you punc a hole in the centre of each paper piece, it is really easy to remove the paper afterwards. All you need to do, is insert the tip of your unpicked and it lifts it out with a tiny flick :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is just spectacular - you colour/fabric choices are perfection!
ReplyDeleteLooks very confusing and hard to make. Love the design need one on one
ReplyDeleteI love this, what an amazing concept for creating. I always thought you had to have larger pieces to create this look, like the 'One Block Wonder" I may try something like this.
ReplyDeleteDo you hand piece these?
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I have never seen it!
