Millrose Christmas Gathering

Another day spent with such a lovely group of ladies in the perfect location :o)

Millrose Cottage in Ballan.

Our Swap theme this time around was Red Brolly.
So many beautiful swap gifts were made.  This swap is always on the highest quality.
Everyone goes to so much effort.  Just have a look.

This time around the swap was done as a "Bad Santa" swap. Overseen by Shez.
(guidelines are here if your interested)

Here are some moments that I caught on camera :)

It was all way to funny to watch and you just didn't know what gift you were going home with.
I started off with this lovely cushion made by Ann (below) but in the spirit of the day I decided to "swap" Christine's gift.  :o)

but then Shez took that from me and I ended with this beautiful sewing case and heart.
Christine was the first to open her gift so she got to, should she wish to, "swap" any gift at the very end,
and she did. She raided Shez's gift which just happened to be her (Christine's) original gift.
All fun and full of laughs.

I was also spoiled and received some lovely Christmas gifts from the others within the "Founding 5" of the Millrose Bloggers Meet.

Top left from Shez, Top right from Barb, Bottom left from Melody and bottom right from Christine.
Thank you ladies, I love all my gifts.

Such a fun filled day.
Thank you everyone for making it so.

Millrose Get together and a third Red Door?

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day at Millrose in Ballan

with a wonderful group of very talented ladies.

A day full of fun, friends a lot of laughter and true to form not a lot of stitching (well for me!)
Here it the proof that I did set up for the day.

and here is a pic of the same project this morning.
As you can, only a little progress was made :o)

Our swap theme this time around was Michelle Ridgway Designs.

Shez has already done a post of everyone opening their swap gifts so if you would like to see visit HERE
and whilst I am mentioning Shez :o)  Shez and I share the same "feelings" over Mug Rugs!
The very funny "Gisborne Girls" gave Shez a surprise Birthday gift a lunch :o)

Trying to get her to "rethink" or "overcome" her dislike of them they presented her with some Mug Rugs and a Mug Rug Book.  All very funny but I still don't think Shez has changed her opinions on them! lol

Now to the third Red Door.
We were very lucky to be given a look at the house next door which is being done up as a Retreat House.
OMG!
It is beautiful inside. The finishes are amasing, the touches and attention to detail already are perfect.
The lighting and the huge windows. In a word PERFECT.

Here is a little glimpse.

I cant wait until it's finished and we all book our first "Stitching Retreat".
Just imagine, a lovely restaurant, right next door is Millrose Cottage and then next door is the Retreat House.
Perfect combination. LOVE

My Retail Therapy :o)

Some Tilda Fabrics for my version of the "Aspen Glow" Pattern I showed last week.

A new pattern, "Message in a Bottle" by Focus on Quilts
This Quilt was on display at the last get together and I loved it.
Now I can start stashing some fabrics for it.

message in a bottle quilt by irene blanck

Whilst standing there chatting away this quilt caught my eye even though it was folded over a chair.
"Oh la la" by Wattlebird Designs

I have been keeping my eyes open for a Paris inspired quilt for Keegan's room so snapped some photos to show Keegan  .....  she loves it.  Mind you she is not thrilled with these colours of the original but does have a great idea for her version.  Now to find the pattern.
Anyone have one that they want to sell cheap?  :o)

So another fantastic Millrose Bloggers Meet.
Thank you ladies.

Round up ......

At this Bloggers meet we had a very special interstate guest.
The one and only Chez, all the way from Lake Maquarie NSW.

 Shez, Chez and Melody.

One of the events of the day was the "Blue Themed Swap"
Here are some of the ladies opening their gifts.

(Sorry to the ladies that took part and I have missed)

Here are all the beautiful gifts that were swapped.

The standard is set very high with this group of talented ladies.

This is the beautiful gift that I have received :o)

Beautiful vintage treasures.  Needle case, scissor keeper, pin cushion and a lovely
Leanne's House Kit.  Huge thank you Lyn it is just PERFECT for me.

After lunch we had Show and Tell.
Here are some of the beautiful creations.

We also had another two special visitors.

Traveling with Chez was Peg and Dale.
These two have been traveling around for over 12 months now
getting up to their antics.

Here are just a few spots I found them.

Trying on one of the beautiful button necklaces.

Taking a break from all the laughter and then a little nanna nap in the wool.

and then like any good Quilter, a little retail therapy.

Huge thank you to all the wonderful ladies who attended.
It was a totally amazing day.

hugs, Sharon

Catching up with Friends

Yesterday I had the most fantastic day at the Millrose Bloggers meet.
I think that this photo sums up the day :o)

There was a lot of taking, not much stitching and a whole lot of laughing.
There were also a few purchases made, well maybe more than a few and
the swap items. WOW.

My cheeks are still so sore this morning from all the laughter.

I have not had the chance to go through all my photos yet so as soon
as I get the chance I will share some with you.

Enjoy your Monday,
hugs Sharon

A wonderful group of ladies.

We had a "Designer Swap". This time it was Rosalie Quinlan.
This is a group shot of all the lovely items swapped.
See the beautiful cushion on the right, I am very pleased to say that
it has come home to live with me :)
It was made by the very talented Sue, thank you Sue.

Lunch was enjoyed next door

This is what tempted my taste buds. It was yummy :o)

There were many beautiful projects being work on by everyone and some very
inspiring Show and Tell and I will come back and share those with you later
(I still need to go through all my photos!)

In the meantime let me share with you some of the quilts that are in this beautiful shop.

This one has to be my favourite.

There is even a Tilda section. Very hard to resist.

Bloggesr Meet Swap

Hopefully I have scheduled this post to go up late enough
so that none of the girls coming to the Bloggers Meet / Sit and Stitch Day
in Ballan today wont see it before they leave home :)

We have an optional swap where a designer is selected,
then it is up to the individual to select what they will make.

This time around the Designer is Rosalie Quinlan.
So many beautiful projects to choose from.

Would you like to see what I have made?

A bunch of Roses :o)

Each Rose is made from a Fat 8th and when the recipient no longer
wishes to have / admire her roses she can unroll them, iron the fabric and
use it in her next project :o)

The Roses are made from one of Rosalie Quinlan's fabric ranges.
This project can be found in Rosalie's book "Gift".

I have enjoyed having these on my Bookcase for the last couple
of weeks that I think I need to make a bunch for ME.

and of course what do you normally give when giving flowers?
That's right, chocolates so I have also included a vase for the
flowers to stand in and a box of Roses chocolates.

Hope the recipient loves them as much as me.

Hopefully I will have some pictures of our day to share with you next time.

hugs, Sharon

Meeting up again

I am so excited,
Next Saturday the 16th February is our

Mill Rosie Friends Sit and Sew get together
at Mill Rose Cottage in Ballan.

If you'd like to come along, please let Mel know.
Due to space, we will have to limit the number of people attending to 16.
So it will be the first 16 to contact Mel.
You will also need to let Mel know if you will be having
lunch in the café so she can confirm the booking for there also.

There is an optional Swap for the day.
This time around it is something by Rosalie Quinlan.
My item is made, just need to work out how to wrap it.
I will share it with you next weekend :o)

Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Sharon

Meeting new Friends

I had a fantastic Saturday meeting some Bloggie Friends in the flesh
at this wonderful Red Door!

I had a wonderful time with these lovely ladies.

From Left to right
All with our "Retail Therapy" in hand.

With the thanks to Melody we all met at Mill Rose at 11am.
Spend some time discovering the shop

"Fabric Heaven"

before heading next door to the Cafe for some lovely lunch and constant chatting.
Ladies, I feel like have have known you all for years and to think this was the first time
we have all been together :o)

Then back to Mill Rose for the "Retail Therapy"

Next time (more on that soon) I will be better prepared in the finance department but
here are my buys from this trip.

4 Orange FQ's as my stash is seriously lacking in this department.
Some pink fabric for a little "secret" project I am working on.
The Grey is for my Christmas Quilt I am getting ready to start.
The Black and white - I think will be for the Bag Swap I am in
but will make a firm decision on that once I get my secret partner
and the bottom one, well it is really a "just because" purchase. I love it. I see a bag
but we will just have to wait and see on that one :o)

The wonderful Shez had a little gift for all of us.
How spoilt am I.
I am now the proud owner of a new needle case.
Annie Downs design.
Thank you Shez.

It will be coming with me next weekend to Daylesford.

After our shopping was complete we went back to the cafe and enjoyed our
afternoon tea, more chatting and laughs before it was time to head home.
Wow how fast the afternoon went.

I will be back next post to share with you some of the girls Show and Tell
and more.

Have a great day enjoying something you love.

Thank you ladies for a fabulous day.
