Meet "Ginger"

Allow me to introduce

"Ginger"

Is she not just the cutest little Fox in a green dress that you have ever seen.

I am personally loving the Tilda trims and little heart buttons.

Miss Lily loves her.  Her eyes light up when she first saw her all finished :o)

 Ginger is the new pattern from Jodie over at Ric Rac.

My little Ric Rac Family is growing quite nicely :o)

You may notice that my Rainbow Giraffe is missing.  He is currently Miss Lily's sleeping buddy.

Think I need to make another one for me.

I'm also thinking that the next addition to my little Ric Rac  Family will (at last) be "Elsie Cabbage".

Fabrics have been sourced for a while and she has been patiently waiting.  Her time is coming :o)

 Just need to finish or is that start a couple of family Christmas presents.

Did you say Retail Therapy?

I only had one item on my shopping list when at Millrose ........

it was Sue Spargo's book "Creative Stitching".

I need it for her new BOM starting in January :o)

That text fabric and felt also managed to find its way home with me.

Millrose also had these Sue Spargo items on display.

 oh and they also stock this beautiful wool for all ones needs :o)

And what am I doing with my Felt purchases?

Yep, Jodie has released a new pattern :o)

I've started it. My reward for sewing those Chef Hats yesterday.

Surgery

I had surgery Monday and this has been my view since.

Feet up resting, catching up on some of my favourite shows,

Yesterday I felt like doing some stitching.

Isn't he just the cutest :o)

"H is for Hippo" 

he is all of 8" tall and another of Jodies new patterns.

These little projects are so addictive.

4 Episodes of  Downton Abbey and a Hippo.

Not a bad afternoon.

I also started working on this lot below on Friday but haven't got back to them since.

maybe when I'm back up and feeling more comfortable.

Being I've had a bit of time on my hands I have also had the chance to surf the internet.

There will be a new project starting very soon.  Something I've not done for 8 years.

I will keep you posted.

The bug is catching as Keegan started to make her own Giraffe this afternoon.

She already has the head, body and arms made :o)

I printed off my pattern last night {insert squeal here} and went digging in my felt scrap bucket today.

Yes, of course my first one was going to be a rainbow version.

Next decision.  Random threads or black thread.

Those on Instagram voted for random threads so of course I went black!

He is all hand sewn so a great project to take with you.  My original plan was to have him come to basketball practice with me tonight but he is so darn cute and addictive by the time basketball got there I only had to attach the arms and legs!

G for Giraffe

 Miss Lily loves him and he was fantastic company for her :o)

He was the toy of choice (once he had limbs) over the Ipad, now that's saying something

  

I had never sewn toys until I discovered Jodies Patterns and now I am a fan, as can

be seen by my little collection below.  

I think Arthur needs his Elsie.

My LQS has just set up a display of Jodies toy and I have to say that I need the pattern for these three after seeing them in person.

Meet my new friend

"Louie - Super Monkey"

Louis is the latest pattern (about) to be released from the uber talented Jodie over at Ric Rac

A new man ... of sorts

Meet

"Arthur Cabbage"

I have had a super productive day in the sewing room today.

Arthur has come alive and in record time for me as I only

started him this morning.

He is now keeping "Little Red" company

and they are both being "over seen" by the Robots!

All are designed by the very talented Jodie @ Ric Rac

I think I should now pick another of her characters to add to the mix.

Those with a keen eye might have also noticed that I have added to my cake plate.

Bliss and Vintage Modern Jelly Rolls are my happy mail for today.

My "Little Red"

Meet my

"Little Red"

 

 

She took me out of my comfort zone a little as the dress is fully lined

with no seam allowances to be seen and the cape is also fully lined.

I don't sew clothing so it was "interesting" to fumble my way through.

I am so pleased with how she has turned out :o)

 

I love the details of the hair, the mushrooms and the shoelaces.

Not to mention that she has "undies" and

I even got the stripes of her socks to line up.

 

Lily had a little play with her yesterday and when she has finished she

gave her back to me (how sweet of her). So when Lily isn't playing

with "Little Red" she is sitting here looking after "the boys" (the Robots)

 also designed by Jodie at Ric Rac.

 

 

So now my thoughts are turning to another one (or two) of Jodies  creations.
