From one thing to another ......

With this week being one that has had my mind scattered and all over the place, so has my creativity.

I have been doing little bits on what seems like a lot of things.

I found myself at my cutting table and in total I think I have managed to cut 13, yes 13 blocks for my Farmer's Wife quilt. I don't even want to think about how many small triangles are in those 13 blocks!  I have not taken them to the sewing machine as I feel that they need more of my attention and concentration than I can give them at the moment.

I have also done a little bit of stitching on a Christmas project, hopefully more on that soon.
I am also nearing the completion line on block 2/3 of my Vignette Mystery Quilt.

I have had Journal Covers on my to do list for quite some time and this week it seemed like the thing to do.
I love the way they look with Ruby.  Just need to do one for me in my new favourite - HOMETOWN :o)

I used the tutorial over here at BLOOM and have started making some to put away for Xmas and birthday presents.  My favourite so far it this one for my nephew. I can't wait to see his little drawings inside. Miss Lily is getting one for her notebook also and Miss K has one to!

Today my postie was very kind with delivering a few parcels and thus adding to my ever growing stash :o)

My fabrics also arrived today for the Christmas Charm Square Swap.

I loved then even more in person and I may need to go back and get more just for me :o)
These have now been cut and are on there way over to the US for the swap.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy stitching,

Weekend Progress - A Rainbow and Vignette Stitching

Saturday proved to be a great day for progress on my
Scrap Busting Rainbow Postage Stamp Quilt.

I had already made the yellow and green

So I went on and made these ......

Altogether they look so pretty

So it was time to play with the layout.
I decided to settle on this.

And now I have THIS ...............

Miss K is hiding behind whilst Miss Lily is proudly helping out to the side :o)

I still need to add a border. Just not sure what, plain white or more little squares. Still thinking on this one.

I also Managed to get a little more done on my Vignette Mystery Quilt - Block 2/3

A little more stitching and the hearts are now appliqued on.

I have also had a break from "The Farmer" over the past few weeks but he made it back up on my design wall early Sunday so more progress on that one soon.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and
enjoy your creativity,
Sharon

Nearing completion ..... and more ......

Scandinavian Christmas

As of 1pm today my Scandinavian Christmas looks like this ....

I need to hand stitch all those hearts so not quite a completed top yet, but hopefully not to far away.

The buttons that I ordered for the blank blocks arrived on Friday. What do you think?

Snowflakes .... only pinned in place!

I only ordered One of these Hearts and I think I
like them so I must order a couple more to fill the blanks
on the outside border :o)

Also arriving in Fridays mail were these .......

Adding to my GO! Baby Die Collection

A while ago I also joined in this ......

I am slowing tackling the task of making the Yo-yo's and can report that I am up to 235 yo-yo's which is 23% made so a few more to go but I am slowly getting there.  Here is what 235 Yo-yo's look like!!!!

This container is about 11" x 8" x 6"

I don't "Do" scrappy very well as I like to be a "little" more controlled but I am doing my best and have only used scraps so I have no idea how this is going to work out!  Wish me luck :o) lol

Sorry, no Blog post on the Farmer this week :(  I do have two blocks cut out but that is as far as they got. Blame my Vignette quilt ....... It now looks like this and I have more of the outside blocks cut ready to be sewn :o)

I am enjoying working with the bright colors at the moment as opposed to the darker colors of my Farmers Quilt .... I am blaming the great weather that we are having here at the moment and it's still Winter :o)

Enjoy your Sunday stitching,
Sharon

Where does the time go.......

Wow the children are back at school after two weeks off and now DH is on a weeks holiday so there has not been a lot of stitching and sewing, especially this week.  But with that said I have managed some progress on a BOM thanks to my very cute 2 y.o. who keeps going up to Block 1 of a quilt I am making for her and so cutely saying "mummy make more?"   How could I possibly resist???????

I have had Block one of the Once Upon a Time BOM made for a while and Blocks 2,3 and 4 have been sitting waiting for my attention.  So I have grabbed them out

Cut out all the 2" square borders etc and now have .....

At least all the piecing is done and I can just sit down as time permits and begin to stitch them for my little girl :o)

Farmer's Wife Quilt Along

My material has arrived from the US and all my templates have been cut!

I still want to purchase some solids to go with this fabric but I am so much closer to starting it now :o)

Scandinavian Christmas

Block 3 is going a little slow but is slowing getting there.
Here is my progress so far ....

Quilting Class

How lucky am I?

My amazing man has surprised me by booking me into .... and paying for a

"Quilting the quilt" class

I was so surprised and over the moon.
It has been something I have wanted to do but never have and now I have no excuses and he did this all on his own.  I am so lucky, thank you Spunky xx

Roll on mid October!!!!

Happy stitching,
