Sharing a UFO

Whilst my Sewing Machine was in getting her service I dug out my two UFO's

The first one has now been completed and can be seen here and this is the second one

It is all pieced, it just needs the remainder of the faces to be painted on and the applique to be finished and there is a lot of applique.

hmmm.... I am just not feeling the love for this project at the moment but hopefully by sharing it with you I might get back into it.   I did spend an hour or so with it one night last week but it is now hanging in the cupboard but I figure that is better than hiding on the back of a shelf.
Maybe seeing it every day will help me get the motivation to get it done.

Here are a couple of other closeups

The centre block is finished

Faces need to be painted

This is the only corner that is completed

and this one is half done.

It is such a big thing, maybe when the weather cools I might be more inclined to devote some time to it.

Enjoy your day, hugs, Sharon

Accountablilty Progess - A finish and MORE

I think that the turn in the weather back to the cooler days and chilly nights has inspired me to do a lot of stitching and sewing as I feel like I am churning things out at the moment, but the best bit, I am LOVING it!

I have just updated my Accountability chart on my side bar as I have a FINISH .... yay

At long last (I started these back in June) I give to you my Xmas Place mats

One way to freak out the Hubby ..... leave them set out on the table until he gets home from work and watch his face as it FINALLY starts to sink in that Christmas is not really that far away.

I got Block 5 of the Xmas Banner stitched whilst Lily was down for her afternoon nap.

Then postie came with a little something for me.  The October mailing from Pink Chalk Fabrics for their Monthly Solids Club.  I love this club, is it a great stash builder.

My plan of attack for tonight is my Vignette Mystery Quilt.  I have now pieced blocks 8 and 12 so I need to concentrate on getting block 4 to the finish line.

Everything is traced ready to go.

It should be a very relaxed night here as it's a Public Holiday tomorrow (Bendigo Cup) so no stress over kids going to bed early, homework etc so that Block 4 is well and truly set in my sights :o)

Enjoy your creativity,
Sharon

Cut or not to cut?

I need some guidance,

One of the items in my UFO / Accountability Challenge is a quilt top that I have described as "half completed".  Here in lies my problem/dilemma/indecision.

This is my "half done" top

It needs a good iron and some boarders.

It might be hard to see but on some of the white squares I have drawn
some flowers etc to be embroidered on.

Now, tonight whilst I have been Blog hopping I found this .......

Now I don't know what to do.

Do I just finish off my quilt ... add a boarder, finish the embroidery etc?

or

Do I cut it up and make the "Dolly Dresses" quilt pictured above?

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if you are interested in the pattern for the "Dolly Dresses"
quilt it can be found Here at Jaybird Quilts

Thanks for stopping by,
Enjoy your creativity,
Sharon

Accountability List & Color Inspriation

... but I MUST be good

I know that I don't need another project but with my recent discovery of Design Seeds I am more tempted than ever.

I must be good though, shouldn't I?  No?
Yes I really should!

Here are a couple of color pallets that I have added to my favourites today :o)

Seeing this make me want a Milk Shake immediately.

Tulips are my favourite flower so I couldn't go past this one.

Yes I really must be good .....
at least until I get that "UFO / Accountability" List under control.
If you want to see how I am going it is now on the left hand side of my blog for all to see.
My way of making me truly accountable to myself :o)

I have picked up the next project that I plan on completing from that list.

Christmas Place mats x 8

The plan is to challenge myself on these and do raw edge machine applique - something I have NEVER done before!

Not perfect by any means but I have to learn somehow ...........

Thank you for stopping by :o)
Happy sewing,
Sharon

Accountability............

Who holds you accountable for your WIP's that have fallen into the UFO category?

The only person in my home is me BUT I have not been to good at it.

So in an attempt to make myself more accountable here I go ... a very public post of those items that have fallen into my UFO pile ..... not a pretty picture by any means!

This pile has been strategically placed out of site in the back of a cupboard for some time.
Now to what is in this pile ....

8 individual projects made up as follows

2 completed quilt tops awaiting quilting
1 Quilt top awaiting final borders etc
2 Xmas wall hanging
Xmas place mats x 8
1 assembled quilt top with a lot of applique that needs hand stitching
1 half completed quilt top (I have no idea what to do with this one)

OK Now to my aim or plan.

I want to clear some of these items from the UFO pile to the Completed list. One item at a time. Admittedly some of these will be quick to finish and some will take a bit of work so to keep myself motivated I have promised myself that I can start a new project that I am super excited about...BUT not until I make a dent into this pile.

So with this said, here is what I have done today.

2 completed quilt tops awaiting quilting
1 Quilt top awaiting final borders etc
2 Xmas wall hanging
Xmas place mats x 8
1 assembled quilt top with a lot of applique that needs hand stitching
1 half completed quilt top (I have no idea what to do with this one)

So pleased that I can actually put this one up this year and not have it hiding in a cupboard.

Once I have cleaned away this pile I might have to admit how many Kits I have and work out a way to give them some justice and not hide them away also.

How do you manage your UFO's ?

How many kits do you have that you have not started?

Feel free to blog about it and let me know by leaving a comment so I can come a visit.
Maybe we can support each other :o)

Thank you for stopping by,
Sharon
