I have a Blue Ribbon Baby!

See that Blue Ribbon laying over my baby boy ..... it is ours .. as in Jaxson's and mine!

and see that yellow star on it? That means he scored between 96 - 100 out of a possible 100 points.

Now the hard bit, do I sell him or keep him.

Might keep him for a little bit and see :)

There were also some quilts on display and a viewers choice cushion competition

See No. 7 at the top, purple and black triangles...it was pieced to perfection.

Peaking my interest was the "In My Garden"

I couldn't get any closer for a real close up but it was a mix of needle turn and blanket stitch applique.

It might be what I have to do with mine when I get around to picking it up again :)

I am also fond of Teddy Bears and these were a few of my favourites

These this collection of dolls are a true credit to their makers

Now, as a Reborn Artist it is not very often that I see a Reborn Doll that I just have to have.

Normally I will just like the sculpt and make it myself but this little one is one of the very few exceptions

I just wanted to pick her up and bring her home

but sadly she was not for sale.

She looks so much better in real life.

As for sewing on this Saturday, I played with

Granny Squares

I am now turning these four into a Blanket of love

Vignette and In My Garden progress

In My Garden Block 2

I have managed to have a little quiet time in the last couple of days so I have picked this up

and so far I have done this

4 Pear Trees

Now I need to think about the tiny snails, dragonfly's and butterfly's.

Vignette Mystery Quilt

I have also managed to get a little more of the needle turn applique done on my Vignette centre blocks.

From 3 Orange flowers to 6

Adding some leaves

Applique finished and freshly pressed.

Need to find some time now to do the vines and blue berries :o)

FNSI - In My Garden - Block 1

In My Garden BOM by Hatched and Patched

It was my personal aim to get Block 1 finished before Santa makes his appearance
so the FNSI was the chance I needed.

Last week I had done to this

Then I finished the Flowers a couple of nights ago

So my aim for FNSI was to get all the piecing together

(Sorry about the changing light conditions)

Then all I had to do was iron on some Parlan and do the hand stitching

So by bedtime last night (it was a late night), the Birds have eyes, beaks and legs, the flowers have stems / leaves and the fountain has water.

Block 1 is Finished ... yay :o)

now onto Block 2 ... atleast the trees look big!

I'm off now to see some of the lovely things that have been created during the last FNSI for the year.

Diamonds and Trees

In my Garden BOM - Block 1 progress

I have finished the applique on the two diamonds as well as the trees

Next was the Bird and fountain. 

Not to sure what went wrong with the base of the fountain.......I'm calling it a learning curve!

Now for the flowers and then some piecing. 

My aim on this one is to get Block one finished before Santa get's here :o)

It has slowed me down!

In My Garden BOM

I have started my In My Garden Quilt by Hatched and Patched.

So many little pieces in this one that it will definitely keep me busy.

Not a lot of progress yet but I guess this shows how it has slowed me down :o)

I can tell already that there will be a big difference from the first block I work onto the last.

I am kind of all over the place with this one until I find my "grove".

As you can see from the pic above I stopped working on the first 2 diamond blocks and went to the tree one as I felt the urge to work on a bigger piece :o)

Then I went back and finished the two diamonds.

As of last night I have completed this

I plan on doing all the needle turn applique and piecing then iron on some Parlan before I do any of the embroidery on each Block.

Piecing Progress and something NEW

I decided I needed a little piecing therapy so out came my

"Some Kind of Wonderful Quilt"

(This is what I keep telling myself but really, I don't like to leave things incomplete so I needed to get this project to a set point before I knew that I would be happy to leave it and walk away for a while ...... yes I have an OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) of sorts ...... my family tells me so!)

I already had this - December commitment, so I then pieced together my other completed blocks to get this

Maybe just a little more ....

Both strips all together.

I all came togther really quickly (I already have all the strips and blocks cut).

I am now putting it away for a while as I have now finished to the February mark.

Here is what I am going to be working on now ....

In My Garden by Hatched and Patched

I started getting this one as a BOM so long ago. Long before I had researched or even knew what Needle turn applique was.

I fell in love with it at a Craft Market and signed up for it without a second thought. That was until I opened the first package/block way back when, freaked out and put it back away. Nope no thought what so ever, just a love for the finished product! Now, somehow I have to make that finished product ...............(I have tried to offer it to other people in Blog Land to do for me when they have reached the end of theirs and felt a little sad but still no takers!   lol )

I now feel that it is the challenge that I need so I don't go finishing off my Some Kind of Wonderful Quilt. After all I am part of a Quilt-a-long and the idea (and I do keep telling myself this) is to do it with the other ladies.

So, Lots and Lots of little pieces ... it should keep me busy :o)
The first block has six separate blocks to work on before the piecing starts.
Arghhh ... what am I doing?

Off now to make a strong coffee to get my day going.... think I might need it :o)
