A New Baby .....

My Liberty Spools Quilt had a Baby!

My Spools Quilt made from the 100 different Liberty Fabrics has been my

inspiration behind my new Mini Spools Quilt (Pattern by Thimble Blossoms)

You would think that after my Scrap boxes that I would be over 1/4" quilting but no,

that's what I did on this Mini :o)

I had a problem now.  My Mini Wall was full so what's a girl to do?

Take over a new wall :o)

Kids might be getting a little concerned as I am starting to take over their side of this room :o)

As always, I find that my sewing space "evolves" and as such I have more plans for my space.

Should make scrap play and storage more roomy and Convenient.  I will share when it's done.

for now I need to go and get myself and Miss Lily organised.  Full dress rehearsals very soon with concert this evening.  Putting makeup on a 4 year old is a lot harder that it looks!

Another Mini

Mini Swoon Quilt

Over the weekend Camille of "Bonnie and Camille" and "Thimble Blossoms"

released two new Mini Quilt Patterns

The "original" Swoon block is 24" and the new Mini Swoon Block finished at 8"

Does this not just scream "Cute".

I am limited for space on my Mini Wall so I decided one block would be perfect  for me.

and upon the wall it went :o)

Sometimes it really is the smallest things that can make you the happiest.

It's going to be a super mad week here with Ballet commitments and end of year concert, School transition day, Keegan's end of year production commitments thrown in with sporting commitments (they joys of 4 kids!) but I am going to do my best to add a "Spools" mini to my wall this week :o)

Better go, no sitting still for me this morning.

Raincheck Mini

Puddle Jumping Mini

"Puddle Jumping"

So, if you missed my last post this is the new Mini Pattern by Camille Roskelly.

It's the mini version of her "full sized" quilt pattern Puddle Jumping.

These cute little ones finish at 1.5" square

and these babies finish at 3.5" square

All together this adorable mini quilt has 308 pieces

and it's only 12.5" square. 

 

Did you pick up that I've used only Bonnie and Camille fabrics?

 OK must go ....... I've got some Umbrellas to play with  :o)

Mini Quilts?

I just love a good mini quilt.

 So you can imagine my excitement when I saw last night that 

the talented Camille had released her "Puddle Jumping" Pattern, but as a Mini.

Now I see that she has made her "Raincheck" Mini available as a free Download (HERE)

     

I feel a new addiction forming.

Camille's planning on making up a tiny Swoon and a Round and Round next!

Look what I got

There was no sewing for me yesterday

but there was a parcel in the mail

This is the beautiful Mini that I have received from Sonia in the DQS12

It is just perfect and I am honoured to have had Sonia make it just for me :o)

I love the mix of solids with prints and the quilting sets it off perfectly.

Sonia also included a Charm Pack for me to play with :o)

Martinique by 3 Sisters - I already have ideas!

I feel so special and I now have my new Mini hanging proudly above my computer in my sewing space,

want to see?  (There is a bit of a mess but I am sure you will understand)

I have moved the hexagon one now as I need the light through

the window now the days are getting darker.

Modern Mini Challenge

I have decided to enter the mini quilt that I have made for my

DQS12 (Doll Quilt Swap round 12) partner into the

Modern Mini Challenge.

Here is my finished Quilt

Finished Size - 20" Square

I have done a mix of machine and hand quilting.

It is Liberated Churn Dash blocks set in log cabins.

I love how it has turned out :o)

I get to enjoy it until I post it to my partner at the end of the month.

New Mini, New Swap and a Heart

New Mini Quilt for my Creative Space

I made this block for my "Oh my Stars" Quilt but it just didn't fit with the feel of the quilt that I am aiming for so I have made it into a Mini Quilt.

Initial Heart Swap Received

I was so excited yesterday when postie arrived.

He had a parcel in his hands and I didn't know who it was from. 

I opened it to find this ....

My special Initial Heart made just for me, some yummy chocolates a cute little notebook for my handbag all from Illene.  Thank you Illene, I love them all.

This now hangs in my sewing space so I can enjoy seeing it every day :o)

I have also made it in to the next round of the Doll Quilt Swap, Round 12 and my first time.

I now have my secret partner and need to come up with some ideas. This round you have to use a solid other than white and incorporate at least one of 5 different blocks.

Mini Quilt Challenge

Today I am linking up with the Mini Quilt Challenge.  I only saw this whilst browsing some Blogs on Friday morning (yesterday) so my version of a Mini Quilt is not very adventurous but it is still a mini quit.I know that the term "Mini Quilt" can be subjective but as a basic guideline, if it is small and quilted it qualifies for this challenge. So in the spirit of things, here is my Mini Quilt made especially for this Challenge. 

 Look a little familiar?I had three blocks left over from my "Little Apples met Sherbet Pips" Quilt top so I thought them perfect for this.

Perfect for the corner space above my Computer in my "Creative Space"

 I am beginning to think that there might be some more Mini Quilts in the future to brighten this area up.
