"Wonderland Quilt"

I am so pleased to announce my latest pattern release ....

"Wonderland"

Wonderland finishes at 56" x 56"
Which is a great size for a Throw Rug or a play mat and even as a wall hanging.

I have used "Pixie Noel" fabrics by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake.
Making my version a great Christmas or Winter 'Wonderland" Quilt.

I have wanted to make a quilt set on point for a while now and I just love how this one has turned out.
Eight simple blocks set on point makes this Quilt a quick one to make.

The centre of the blocks are great for fussy cutting your favourite print or Novelty scene.

Linda at LadyBug Quilting here in Bendigo has again worked her magic on Wonderland for me.

Wonderland is now available for immediate download in my ETSY store HERE or ask for it at your Local Quilt Shop.

Wholesale enquiries can be made to Creative Abundance.

Happy Sewing,
hugs Sharon xx

Playing my my scrap bins - Pineapples anyone?

Pineapples Anyone?

You know when you see something online, instantly you love it but you scroll past because you have so much on the go but then you find your thoughts turning back to it. Well this happened to me nearly a week ago. I was scrolling Instagram as one does and Julie at Intrepid Thread had posed about a new tutorial over on her blog with the following image.

You can find the tutorial HERE.

I knew that I wanted mine to be a scrappy Bonnie and Camille version as my scrap baskets are overflowing.  I am not sure that this will make much of a dent but I will try :)

I have set myself a little target of trying to make at least one a day.
Five days in and five blocks made, so far I am on track.

School holidays start today and the addition of this little cutie to our family last week might mean that I don't stay on track but I will try :)

Meet Elly,

For those of you who have been with me here for a while will know that we said goodbye to our last Pug, Molly, just on 4 1/2 years ago at the age of 16. It totally broke my heart. She was with me before I had my own kids and was the only constant in my life through a very hard time for a while there.

The only pets we have had since have been fish!
It was time to fix that as I was ready to love another Pug again and Miss Lily was becoming more fixated on dogs in general.  Hubby is more of a big dog person but oh well :)
The breeder did warn me that Elly had the 'biggest personality' from the litter and that is true but in true Pug form she changes from a, lets just say, handful to a sleeping ball of Puggie fluff that looks like butter would not melt in her mouth.

Photo shoots will have a slight added degree of difficulty now ........

But I would not change that for a thing.

Expect to see more photos of Elly pop into my Instagram feed and here on my blog.

Time to prepare another block.

Happy Stitching,

Sharon x

Lovely Little Patchwork - Blog Tour

Today it is my turn on the

We are celebrating the first book by the lovely
Kerri Horsley of "Sew Deerly Loved" / "Lovely Little Handmades" fame.

Kerri's Blog was one of the first I started following, long before I began blogging myself so to be asked to partake in her Blog Tour is a huge honour for me.  Kerri's book keeps with her vintage style and I always knew that it was going to be hard to choose a project.  I was very lucky that Tuva Publishing had sent me an advanced copy of Kerri's book so I have been enjoying for a little bit now and as such I have made two projects.

My first project was the
"Oh Deer Wall Quilt"

I chose to mix "Backyard Roses" fabric by Nadra Ridgeway for Riley Blake Designs
and some Essex Linen.

And I just love how it turned out.
For my second item I have made the
"Back to School Pencil Pouch"

For this one I decided to fussy cut Sedef's debut line "Sweet Orchard" for Riley Blake Designs
and mix it with some Red Chambray that I picked up from Ministry of Fabric.

Here is the schedule for the Blog Tour.
Be sure to go and check out what the talented line up of bloggers have created.

Southern Aurora Quilt - Bittersweet Blog Tour - GIVEAWAY

Today is my day on the

"Blog Tour"

I had the absolute pleasure of starting to playing with this new range from Sue Daley back in November last year.  When you English Paper Piece you need a LOT of lead time!

I had this design sitting here waiting for the perfect fabric and once these arrived I knew it was the right time to dive in and write my first EPP Pattern - Southern Aurora.

Sue has designed this range with the fussy cutter in mind and has worked the colours to team beautifully with Riley Blakes Basics Range.

I find keeping my secret sewing to myself really hard and during the making of this quilt I did let the occasional pic sneak through to my social media :)

I designed this quit to allow for as much or as little fussy cutting as the maker would wish.
I also designed a NEW SHAPE!

I wanted the hexagons to stand out in their own right so I designed the "Lilabelle Polygon" to frame the 4" Hexagons perfectly.

Here are just some of the examples of the fussy cutting within my Quilt.

This Quilt is pretty special to me. Not only is it my first (yes there are more coming) EPP Pattern, with my own shape, this one also made it Debut at the International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City.

Linda at Ladybug Quilting has quilted this one for me.
Linda is very clever at choosing a design that works with the quilt.
This design gives Souther Aurora a nice flow and movement.

The pattern for Southern Aurora can be purchased with the templates and papers.

Ask at your Local Quilt Shop or visit some of the stockists that I have listed on my stockets page HERE. If you are a retail outlet that would like my Wholesale details please email me at sharon@lilabellelanecreations.com

I also have it available as a stand alone hard copy pattern in my ETSY Store HERE.
(No papers and Templates)

These photos were taken here in Bendigo before my quilt left for its adventure at Quilt Market.

If you are in the Ballarat area, my quilt is currently hanging at Cotton Factory and if you are in Queensland it will be on show on the 22nd and 23rd October in Roma and the following weekend at the Gympie Show.  Just look for Janeene at the stand for  "Fabric Patch".

**GIVEAWAY**
Giveaway is now closed - Thank you
To celebrate the release of my first EPP pattern and the Blog Tour I have two copies of my
 Southern Aurora Pattern to GIVEAWAY.
(Pattern only - no papers or templates)
All you need to do is leave me a comment below, ensuring you have a valid email attached to your profile and I will randomly draw two winners next Thursday.
