Bali Wedding Star Quilt
This poor project has been moved from one spot to another to the point that is was no longer in order and a right royal mess. So yesterday I cleaned off the work space and set to getting things back in order and in all honesty I was becoming totally overwhelmed by it all.
After taking a step back to evaluate and then a quick visit to Spotlight for a new blade as there was still some cutting to be done, I was back and looking at those pages upon pages of foundation papers that needed to be cut.
Progress was slow but when it was done I was then confronted with these huge piles of fabric and foundation papers. I decided to tackle that pile at the front ......... only 128 papers there!
Progress is being seen but I am now taking a break thanks to Miss Lily's and daddy.
Home made bickies and a nice hot Coffee.
I need the coffee!
Until next time, I hope you find the time to do something you love.
Hugs Sharon
Huge job Sharon but it will be well worth it!

I love seeing your scrap boxes all lined up! This will be a beautiful quilt - you got through a lot with that new blade!
ReplyDeleteHave you ironed the papers to the fabric.
ReplyDeleteThey look so neat
Looks like you've done an amazing job figuring out where you are, and what needs to be done :) I haven't yet pulled out my patterns by her - I'm thinking I"ll tackle that later in the year, lol! Get in some foundation piecing practice first ;) ... Do you photocopy your pieces, or just use the ones in the pattern? Wondering if it would be worth it, you know, if I decide I want to make a second of a particular pattern ;) ... Enjoy your week ahead luv!! Bet you get a ton more sewing done during the day when the kids are at school!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteOMG Sharon....you boggle my mind. It will be a quilt and a half when finished.Hope you enjoyed your coffee and biscuits.xx
ReplyDeleteProgress can be slow, but if it's progress, you are moving forward. Keep up the good work. p.s. Love your fabric baskets for different coloured scraps.

Ooooooooo that's a lot of piecing! Hmmm one piece at a time will get you there eventually. You must looooove that project.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the preparation can be the biggest part of making a quilt. It looks like you have completed a mountain of work. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward to seeing this one come together - the colours are wonderful.
