"Steam Punk"

"Steam Punk Quilt"

Let me just get this out there......
"I am scared of curved piecing..."
but you know that as my Glacier Star Quilt is "testing" me and my patience.

But I love the look of this quilt but the curved piecing ... OMG what am I getting myself into?

A quick "refresher", these are the fabrics that I am going to play with whilst making this one.

and here are the start of my blocks ...

Block 1

Block 2

Block 3

Block 4

I think I have another 6 or so cut and sitting beside my machine ready to go when I'm ready to be tested!

Oh well that's another WIP started, I wonder what the secret is to finishing something? :)

A Basket of Flowers

more ... Best Friends Forever BOM

I have another completed hexagon to add to the collection.  No 9.

I have also had some "Happy Mail"

My Templates for my Steam Punk Quilt have arrived. Watch out, there may just be some blocks to show soon. I might have also ordered the templates for Anna Maria Horner's "Feathers pattern" which has also worked it way on to my "must make one day list".  It is a free pattern if you are interested and no, you don't need the templates, you can use the paper template in the pattern. :o)

Also arriving was a new book for the library :o)

OK, must go. I am trying to finish off some secret sewing to take with me to Melbourne this weekend to hand over to Claire for our Mrs. Martins "Celebration Swap". Hi Claire *waving*  :o)

Helping the Economy

I must say that I think I have done my little bit this week to help the Economy!
This is my haul from my Quilt shop visits.

There are 2 Bliss fabrics to feed my soul. I was super pleased to add some yardage to my Bliss stash.
Just "a few" word prints (yes I have a little addiction) and some black prints, all of which I have plans for (see below). The blue was a great find and will be used to make my "Elsie Cabbage" by RicRac and that Tula Pink Print and matching solid will be my new bag. Hope to have this one made before next weekend.

A little while ago I added this pattern to my collection
"Steam Punk"

and I have been getting my daily fix of blocks on Instagram.
I can be found under " lilabellelane "

I have now decided that it is time I seriously start planning my own.
Here are my chosen fabrics so far.

I still want a Blue and possibly another red/orange word print.
I have ordered the templates so when they arrive I think I should bite the bullet, get over my fear of curves and start playing :)

and look what arrived today ...... my Xmas in July Parcel

I am a little stumped on who its from.
The envelope fell out when I opened it and a child quickly sealed it!
I am sure that all will be revealed on the 25th :o)

Thanks for popping by,
hugs Sharon
