Liberty Hexie Quilt - Part 2

"Love and Liberty Hexie Quilt"

Part Two.

Last month I shared with you the start of my new scrappy Liberty hexagon quilt. Since then my "Love and Liberty Hexie Quit" has grown and some beautiful contributions have arrived in the mail. Also arriving in the mail are these beautiful '40th Anniversary Classics Collection' Liberty prints from Robyn at The Strawberry Thief.

Every liberty print that comes into the studio now has a hexagon cut from it in readiness to be added to this quilt.

Today I finished working into my quilt the first contribution that arrived super fast from Carlie.
You can see below what Carlie sent me. A piece of gorgeous lemon Liberty, of which I didn't have, a lovely embroidered flower and this beautiful piece of vintage linen.

I could not bring myself to cut the linen so I set to incorporating it without cutting it up.

At this point I then added 2 half hexes and the Liberty hexie that Carlie had sent to the top.

I have also worked in Carlie's flower hexagon and I have bordered her signature square in Liberty.

The plain cream hexagons are the start of a design element for this special quilt.

Thank you Carlie for your special contribution to this quilt xx

Yesterday the postie had four more envelopes for me from Maree, Anne, Amanda and Marj.

Note cards with special memories and notes causing me to reach for the tissues.
This quilt is truly going to be more special than I could have ever imagined.

If you would like to add a little something to this quilt my original post can be found HERE with all the details.

If you are over on Instagram you can track the progress of this quilt by searching #loveandlibertyquilt

Hopefully tonight I can get some slow stitching time in and add some more to this special quilt.
