Farmer's Wife Progress

Farmer's Wife Overview

With the Farmer's Wife Quilt-along on a break until the end of January I thought that it would be a good chance to sit back and have a look at what I have completed thus far and see how the blocks are balancing out.

I have picked the fabric for the corner stones (the light print in the bottom left block in the first collage below) but I still need to make a decision on the sashing so please if you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know. I am not sure on a solid or print, what line of fabrics ... maybe another Kansas Troubles fabric?  Help ....

Here are all of the 57 block made so far.

That leaves me 54 to go so over half way.

Please, if you have any fabric suggestions for the sashing I would love to hear them.

Hugs, Sharon

  2. So enjoy looking at your blocks...have no suggestions but am looking forward to beginning my Farmers Wife blocks. Met a fellow quilter online, several states apart...and we will start in January to make and swap blocks. She is doing the 'odd' and I am doing the 'even' ... so excited!

  3. I am about to begin the Farmer's Wife journey. I've had the book for some time and have collected some fabrics. Printed out templates this morning. Packed up for the holidays - love seeing yours. Look gorgeous. I always struggle with determining sashing - usually lay out the blocks and use trial and error!! Good luck and what an achievement. Love the colours you've chosen in the blocks. Look forward to seeing more.

I have The Farmers Wife book, and love it.My plan is to start the quilt this year, and have decided not to do it in the rustic colours and go really bright.
See how it turns out.hugs Laura.xx
