Block 4 was huge!

Sometimes I kick myself with starting all the Chain stitch and Satin stitch but when it's done I do love it.  With that said I do think that this project will be placed on the back burner for a while.

I think it's more of a winter project for me :o)

I also got a little "Happy Mail" yesterday.

Issue 5 of "Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine" and the debut issue of Hoop-La!

I LOVE them both.

and "Hoop-La" is currently out of print but I have heard that they are doing another print run and as such will be available from the same site in the future.

Revisiting ......

Scandinavian Rose

So far I have only finished the first two blocks so a few days ago I dug it all out

to try and work out what I'm doing with this project.

I added the next two blocks to help me decided if I should just settle on a 

smaller wall hanging or commit to the full quilt and after a few positive and encouraging

comments on IG I have decided to give it another go.  I have now completed Block 3 and

started Block 4.

Lucy Boston - Patchwork of the Crosses

I have taken a little break from my Lucy Boston thanks to the blunt end of the needle going through

the end of my finger a few to many times .... ouch. I have competed one more block which takes me to 10 Blocks.

  The fabrics that I purchased during the destash on IG recently

have arrived and I am looking forward to playing with them.

In other news, these guys are going off on a little adventure for a few months.
Hope they behave themselves :)

and these arrived in my mail box yesterday.  Issue 2 should only be a day or two away.

I think that this might actually be my first magazine subscription. A nice, refreshing and modern magazine.

Revisiting .....

I am "trying" to be diciplined as I have a heap of projects I want to start

but I feel the urge to make some forward progress on some other projects first.

Here is a quick round up of what I've been working on for the last week.

Hex on the Beach

I have had 4 rows sewn together for a while.

I am now close to having 7 rows sewn together.

I have finally finished Block 2

Liberty Spools Quilt

Squaring up those HST is really slowing me down on this one but I am up to

57 of the 100 spools required.

Blake's Quilt 

Was posted yesterday and has been received by his Parents today.

They have posted on Facebook if you would like to take a look.

Blake's Million Smiles

Thank you again to everyone who has donated blocks.

 I still have them arriving daily and I have a plan for the next one.

Blake's Celebration was a mass of Colour with Balloons.  

Balloons were let go all over the world for this little man.

So the next quilt will be made much like this one above to

represent the coming together to Celebrate Blake and the balloons that

were let go that day. This quilt will be donated to Heart Kids to either

be gifted to a child or help with fundraising.

On the home front here.

Aiden and his team won his Basketball Grand Final Friday Night.

Declyn has had his Football Presentation Evening Sunday and has come home with a trophy for most Improved Player and his 50 Game Medallion.

and ...... the board games are out these School Holidays.

Lily loves board games at the moment and it is so nice to see the big kids "adapt" a game so Lily can play. This one is a blast from the past!  It was one of my favorites as a kid and this is my original from 1982 so I guess it cold be called vintage!

Scandinavian Rose - Block  1

There is a LOT of work in these Blocks and this is only Block 1.

Don't be expecting to see Block 2 in a hurry!

I am also having some computer "issues" and can only access the Internet via my IPad at the moment so please forgive me for not commenting on your posts as often. I am reading you posts, google just won't let me leave comments all the time.  Now to find a brick wall to bang my head against!

Scandinavian Rose

"Scandinavian Rose" 

by Rosalie Quinlan is my newest project :o)

(I know, I have very little self control at the moment when it comes to new projects)

After I had finished cutting all my Hexagons for my Best Friends Forever Quilt I had a pile of 1.5" squares sitting there for this project but instead of bagging them up for another day I decided to start piecing. 

I am lucky that my stitching isn't too tight so I can cut the panels to size and piece before I stitch.

This project is also likely to be one of my "rotating" (because I am getting a few now) Wall Quilts. As such it (most likely) wont have wadding/batting, just the parlan so if I piece it now all the panel has the parlan and will finish at the same thickness.

Block 1 - Scandinavian Rose

 I LOVE how it looks in "Scrumptious" by Bonnie and Camille

and to think these are my "scraps" from my Best Friends Forever BOM.

This will be a "Long Term Project" and just to give you an idea, the pattern calls for 

4 - 6 Skeins of thread for these two blocks - that's a LOT of thread!

Block 2 - Scandinavian Rose

I am already on my second skein of thread and I'm not half way though Block 1 yet.
