Feathers on a Friday

"Feathers Quilt" by Anna Maria Horner

Back in September I sent all the girls withing the Cherish Circle of Do Good Stitches little parcels with the back ground fabric for my October blocks. Since then I have been getting little surprises in my mail box then today the last ones arrived.  I was so hoping that what I saw in my head would translate.
Here is the mini mosaic I posted to Flickr for the girls.

I provided no other guidance for colours etc 

as I wanted each of them to make their own unique feathers.

after some pressing and trimming I had this .......

plus I have two blocks left for the back.
I LOVE every block and all together as a top ...... I am in LOVE

This photo might be a little deceiving as to the size ..... it is 72" Square

I think that all the ladies have out done themselves. Some ladies have been cursing me whilst making their blocks but just look. They are stunning and now what I saw in my head I see before me :o)

  

Now for the quilting.  My limit/ability stops and starts at straight lines (well I like to pretend they are straight!) so do I do random or just vertical?

Little bit of this and a little bit of that :)

I finished these two last night.

I am not going to say how many days until Christmas because I am in denial.

Nothing to do with Christmas though, more to do with the fact that my 

gorgeous baby girl will be starting school shortly after!

These pretties arrived yesterday.

I was going to make a Beach Bag for me but someone (and she knows who she is) has told me NO!

Maybe I could make it for Keegan :)

I wonder if that would be OK?

I've also wasted too many hours over at the Fat Quarter Shop auditioning fabrics for this block / Quilt

one of which was "High Street" and now I've seen it in person I just know I will be auditioning fabrics more seriously :o)

I have also made headway into this ...

The pattern is "A Few of my Favourite Things Sewing Roll" by Leanne Beasley.

It is also my turn again next month to be leader for the "Cherish Circle" of Do Good Stitches.

I have selected my Block for the ladies to make.

It's "Feather Bed Quilt" by Anna Maria Horner.

I have decided to go with an off white / cream background which will me mailed out

to them next week and leave the colour of the feathers up to the individuals.

I cant wait to see what they come up with.

2 Finished Quilts

The two Quilts that I have been making as part of the

are now complete and ready to be posted off the St Kilda Mums

Fresh from the dryer ready for a new baby or two.

I don't know the name of this block but there is a tutorial here on my blog.

It's my month again soon so I had better get thinking about what block / quilt design to use.

Saturday Stuff

I felt like doing a "little" Applique this morning. "Little" did I know at the time how "little" the applique would be!  These are part of a secret project so this is all I can share until it's all finished :o)

Then decided that I needed to catch up my Toes in the Sand BOM before the next block arrives.

Glenn then took Miss Lily out to the movies (this was her second time at the Cinema and she loves it) so with a quiet house I then decided to start tackling all the "Do Good Stitches" Blocks that I have received and am pleased to say that I now have two completed Baby Cot/Quilt tops ready for quilting.  Now to find some backing fabric and order some batting and I will be ready to finish these off.

 I also got my hands on these this morning

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can make?
