Finished on Friday

"Simply Blessed"
a BOM by Rosalie Quinlan

When Rosalie first released this BOM I fell in love with it
but just knew that I wouldn't commit to all 9 blocks
so I picked 4 of my favorite blocks and set to making a wall hanging.

With a little help from some friends over on Instagram earlier this week I decided
to add some hand quilting to finish it off.

and here it is all finished followed by a close up of the 4 stitcheries.

In other news. I did a little thrifting last weekend.
I went into the Recycle Yard looking for a ladder to use to hang some quilts on.
I lucked out on that but did find these Vintage Honey Tins so they came home with me instead :)

I've also signed up for this .....

I now have 12 quilt block/blocks to make for my partners over the next 6 months.

And arriving for the stash today were these pretties

Far Far Away by Heather Ross.

Oh, and I nearly forgot. I have signed up to receive a pretty little pile of Liberty Fabrics every month.

I'm currently looking for a pattern so that I get to play with them every month and not have them languish in the stash untouched.  If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Until next time, happy stitching.

hugs Sharon

  1. Lovely use of the stitcheries in your wall hanging. Very nice retail therapy.

  2. The wall hanging is gorgeous. Nice choices too! :)

  3. Some beautiful fabrics here and I love your version. Of Rosie's BOM.

  4. Your completed wall hanging is gorgeous - a good way to compromise without making the whole quilt. Sounds like you are going to have fun sewing!

  5. Love your BOM! It's beautiful :)

  6. Your stitching is just lovely. It was really great meeting you today. Your quilt is amazing. Keep up the good work. If you want help doing an album let me know

  7. Your wall hanging is gorgeous. Great use of fabrics. I agree with the idea of choosing only a few blocks to complete. Sometimes the projects are too big to fit into your schedule. This is a great way to have a "taste".
The tins are a lucky find. And the fabrics are lovely, especially the Liberty prints. Good luck finding a project.

  8. Beautiful wall hanging - love the blue. Retail therapy can be really good for the soul especially at a recycle yard. Beautiful fabrics to look forward to each month xx

  9. love how you have completed the blessed stitcheries, don't think I would have done all them either.
    great bikkie tins.
wonderful to see your passacaglia progress in person too. amazing piecing!

  10. Congratulations on your finish! Your colour scheme is so calm and elegant, and the whole thing came out beautifully. Great job!
