Dear Jane Quilt
I have been playing with my new Dear Jane software
Reading the instruction Manual over and over.
One day it will click, I hope!
A bit of playing later
Ahh . . . . this is more my style.
Now how do I print the patterns?
It took me a while but the first three rows of block patterns are printed
and color coded. Now to find some fabrics and think about tackling those tiny pieces.

ReplyDeleteAll the best with this one Sharon... lots to keep you busy! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks amazing Sharon. I'll be watching what happens next. Sharyn:)
ReplyDeleteDJ is such an epic journey. Looking forward to watching yours grow.
ReplyDeleteWell done for your progress to date. I got the book and software for Christmas but haven't done much yet. I have got some fabrics for the colours but am looking for a suitable background fabric. Good luck with your journey. Sue
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be amazing Sharon
ReplyDeleteOh boy, I can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteThat software looks wonderful. A very modern approach to quilting. What would Dear Jane think?
ReplyDeleteIt looks very time consuming. I am looking forward to following your progress. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteI have the book, you sure can't do all that with the book!! LOL. I sure wish I could color a picture like that! WOW! Hind sight is 20/20
ReplyDeleteI purchased the Dear Jane software a while back but haven't even opened the package. I use Electric Quilt so I don't think I will have any problems using it. Enjoy your journey.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo~!! Yeah - I ended up writing a bunch of notes to myself in my front cover regarding printing how-to's and sizes, etc. Hmm. . . somewhere I wrote up how I go about getting my chart made of the images of my finished blocks, too . . . where is that? I'll be back. ;D
ReplyDeleteAh. Here it is: http://janiacsunite.blogspot.com/search/label/Ways%20to%20do%20a%20chart
ReplyDelete(I'm going to need that to re-figure out how to do it since it's been such a long break in my Jane work)
If you find an easier way, I'd love to know. :D
Can't wait to see your progress with this one Sharon.
ReplyDeleteIt takes time...but you can do it. I didnt go in order...I did all the blocks that can be paper pieced first. Still have more to do. Hmmm. I will pull it out and get one done this week!! Also, FYI...Batiks dont like to be appliqued...trust me. That is why I stopped. I chose batiks to make mine out of..and it doesnt needle turn very well. I have to fight it. Hugs
ReplyDeleteWow that looks great. I have been into the computer with the software, but haven't gotten very far. I need to figure out how to print the patterns as well!
ReplyDeleteLooking good - I haven't done any blocks for a while- I'm letting you catch up :p
ReplyDeleteIt will be wonderful !!

Have fun on your Dear Jane journey. If in Melbourne, there is a Dear Jane exhibition @ Box Hill Town Hall, Feb 8-10th
ReplyDeleteGlad to see I am not the only one doing a Rainbow Jane! I have blocks printed out and fabric ready to cut. Hopefully I can start this weekend. Can't wait to see your blocks as they come along.
ReplyDeletelooks amazing... clever clogs you...
ReplyDeleteHugz
This is going to be a beautiful quilt!!
ReplyDeleteYou're on your way! I was going to tell you about the exhibition too but Annette beat me to it! Mel and I are going on the 8th!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great plan!!! It will be lovely once its finished!
ReplyDeleteJust started my Dear Jane too..You are just going to have to start making some blocks and see where it takes you..there is no other way!
ReplyDeleteYou'll see it is actually quite addictive once you've started. The feeling you get when you complete one of those little blocks is quite amazing..and makes you want to do another.
I'm using the book for the patterns but have considered getting the software too...
Essie
