It's awfully quiet here ....

because School is back!
(insert huge happy grin here)

Don't get me wrong, I love having my family home but by the end of the holidays I'm over it.
I need my house back (anyone with teenagers will understand this, 2 leave the house and 6 come back!)
and routine and with routine comes a clean house oh, and of course, wouldn't you know it, at 8am this morning it started raining!  Thought it might have held off until at least 3.10 :o)

I've not been Idle though, allow me to share.
I changed the pages in my Cottage Garden Threads Holder and am much happier now.
The pages are also double sided.

A new Book arrived.
And I have to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one.
It has been a while since a quilting book has inspired me so :o)

Kate's Blog is here if you would like to take a look.

 Friendship Quilt

I've made my next two blocks for the Friendship Quilt I'm making with Claire.

I was obviously in a little Blue and Green mood :o)
The first block is Red Letter Day and the second Round and Round
both by Camille over at Thimble Blossoms and made in Bonnie and Camille fabrics.

I have these cut to play with next - the fabric is from April Showers by Bonnie and Camille

I've also been making a little village

and now have a new Mini on my wall

I've split my Minis onto two walls now. One is my Bonnie and Camille wall and the other is my Rainbow wall.

Lastly, I have been plodding away at my Sue Spargo BOM.

I am really enjoying playing with such gorgeous threads, wool's, velvet's and silks

There is a Media Ban on this BOM so this is all I can show you at the moment.
I am keeping up with the block construction but have not dived head first into the embellishing yet.

Hoping you are finding time to do something you love
and that you all had a safe and fun filled Easter break.

A little finish and another start

"A Merry Christmas Garden"

Block 1 is finished and I have a new found like of Needle turn applique.

I am looking forward to playing with block 2 but first I think I need to have a play with these lovelies.

Sue Spargo's 2014 BOM

I signed up for this one so long ago and then it feels like it has taken and eternity for Block 1 to get here.  I have been so eagerly awaiting it, that now it's here I feel a little bit out of my depth with it.

The colours are beautiful. The wool's, silks and all the different threads.
Yikes, hope I can do this project justice.  I also feel that this is one project that I
really should devote time to as soon as it gets here so that I don't get to overwhelmed,
fall behind with and never finish.

Enjoy your Friday.
It's the Millrose get together tomorrow.
Can't wait to catch up with all the amazing talented ladies.

Something New

"In Full Bloom"

I am finding that I am being drawn more and more to texture and at the same time I have found myself looking more at Sue Spargo's work.  I love her work and the way that she embellishes her projects.

(examples of Embelishing - Love these pictures)

Then last week I happened to stumble across the registrations for her new BOM.
It's like it was meant to be and I am so glade I signed up when I did because the
program is now full.

The Design

and a sneak peak of the colours and threads.
There will be a mix of Cottons, Wools, Silks and Linen.
I am so excited to be taking this journey which will begin in the new year.
Something to be looking forward to as my baby girl starts school.

All the stitches will be coming from this book so I must add it to the Christmas wish list :o)

Have you got any new projects planned for the new year or joined any new BOM's lately?

Hugs Sharon
