'Tis the Season - Another new Pattern Release

Just in time for some Christmas sewing.

'Tis the Season
(Is a Large Creative Card which means great value for you).

This pattern is a set of six english Paper Pieced Christmas Decorations.

In the set there is the Wreath, two Stars, Tree, Bauble and these super cute Candy Canes.

These are super cute and quick to make.

Also, within the pattern there is a link to download Scan N Cut friendly pages to cut your papers at home or if you like to cut your own papers by hand, copy onto 160gsm card and make your own papers.

Ahh Puppy training is starting to pay off as I can actually (well sometimes) get Elly to sit, or in this case lay, so I can get a cute pic of my Studio Assistant!

The pattern includes full sized templates but does assume that you have basic knowledge of English Paper Piecing.

I do love them all but I also have a special fondness for the Candy Canes.

The pattern is available in PDF Format in my Etsy Store HERE.
Wholesale through Creative Abundance and
Retail at a Quilt Shop Near You.

Enjoy and Happy Stitching,
Sharon x

Free Tutorial - Christmas Spin Table Runners

"Christmas Spin Table Runners"

There are so many exciting things happening in my studio at the moment that I am so excited to  share with you but I can't just yet.  So in the meantime, and to celebrate all that is happening in the background around here, I have turned one of the first patterns I wrote, Christmas Spin Table Runners, into a free tutorial over on the Bernina Blog HERE.

It's never to early for some Christmas sewing.
I hope you enjoy :)

I will be back on Monday to announce the two winners of my current Giveaways so if you haven't had a chance to enter yet now is the time to be doing so!

See my two previous posts for details.

Hugs Sharon.

Bad Blogger Catch up

I just don't know where the time is going at the moment.
I am managing to get the occasional post up but I am seriously behind in my Blog reading,
hence the Bad Blogger header.  The good news. I'm down to about 500 posts left to read now,
so I am getting there.  You are all so busy and you are all continuing to add to my own to-do list! :o)

OK now I am going to do a quick catch up and put everything in the one post so blogging becomes easier and I'm  not scheduling posts in advance and actually finishing off stuff when a progress post goes up .....
confused?  Did you see yesterday post about my Crochet Throw?
Yes / No?   Well guess what..... I finished it last night!

I am so chuffed with this finish.
I took my first (and only) crochet lesson 5 weeks ago to the day that I finished this.
It finishes at 36" square

I'm plotting another Crochet start but am holding off on visiting the Bendigo Woolen Mills for supplies as Claire might be coming for a visit over the school holidays and we can go together.  hmmm..... could be an expensive trip :o)

In other news........

I've been playing these these pretties.

Not your "traditional" Christmas colors but so fresh.

One stocking and just need to find the perfect hanger for this one.
One more thing to make and this swap is ready to go.

Have you joined the Aurifil bandwagon?

I am a little late to the party but have to say after some "tweeking" of my machine I am in love.
I was struggling with a lot of breakages at first but with some guidance from some Instagram friends, all is now good.  Only problem ..........  no one locally stocks it :(  oh well, nothing that Mr Postie and a Paypal cant fix!  :o)

I am now three months into the Aurifil Thread Club (Modern Applique Collection)
from Millrose in Ballan with these beauties arriving this morning.

And one last thing.

Chookshed's 2nd Birthday Party is this weekend.

I'm going, are you?
Sign up here if you are.

I might play with this new pattern by Elizabeth over at Don't Call Me Betsy
if Glenn remembers to print it off for me and bring it home because,
of course the printer has decided it doens't want to work .... grrrrr

Drop Dead Gorgeous Epic Mini for Kristi

What's your plans for the weekend?

Pippa Quilt and the Grinch!

It's still a secret so Shhh ........

Lily's Pippa Quilt

Dad took Miss Lily out Christmas Shopping Saturday
which allowed me to get her Birthday Quilt out and do a little more work on it.

When she returned home I turned my attention to making another Ball.

Still don't think that I am finished with these yet :)

Then I made up some more "Reindeer Noses" and some
"Grinch Pills" to take to a Party last night.

I found some Green and White M & M's, perfect for these :o)

Might have to make a few more for Christmas Day.

Hope you spend your weekend doing something you love.

Bali Wedding Star

I decided that my project of choice for FNWF would be my
Bali Wedding Star Quilt.

This is another Quiltworx pattern that is all Foundation Pieced.
Mine will finish at 104" Square.
I started my sewing earlier in the day knowing that there would be a break in the evening
as Declyn was playing Basketball at 8.30pm.

There are 32 arches in each colour required.
I have started the "A Units" thus breaking it down to 16 Units of each at the moment.

Not bad for a days sewing.
I am leaving the trimming to later as we are having another get together in January at my LQS
for the other local ladies working on this project.  I figure I can trim them then instead of taking in my machine.  If you are interested in this pattern I think Nicky still has one (possibly more) left in store and of course she can always order one in for you :o)  (just saying. I'm always happy to enable) :o)

I also got to play Hairdresser to Santa!
This is one of Lily's favorite Ipad games at the moment.
She likes to take photos and save them to the Ipad to show Dad later.

Lily and I also hung her latest Kinder creation.

We really do have Santa watching over us this year.

I also had some "happy mail" of which I had to hide from Lily as I am planning on making this one for Lily and giving to her for her 5th Birthday in March.

Yes my baby girl will be 5 in March. How did that happen?
I now need to try and sneak in some real secret sewing time when she is tucked up in be :o)

If you are interested in the pattern or kit Natalie over at Cinderberry Stitches has them listed in her shop.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw that the kit was only $50.

Must go, more sewing to do, Santa Styling to do and of course blogs post to read.
hugs Sharon.

Millrose Christmas Gathering

Another day spent with such a lovely group of ladies in the perfect location :o)

Millrose Cottage in Ballan.

Our Swap theme this time around was Red Brolly.
So many beautiful swap gifts were made.  This swap is always on the highest quality.
Everyone goes to so much effort.  Just have a look.

This time around the swap was done as a "Bad Santa" swap. Overseen by Shez.
(guidelines are here if your interested)

Here are some moments that I caught on camera :)

It was all way to funny to watch and you just didn't know what gift you were going home with.
I started off with this lovely cushion made by Ann (below) but in the spirit of the day I decided to "swap" Christine's gift.  :o)

but then Shez took that from me and I ended with this beautiful sewing case and heart.
Christine was the first to open her gift so she got to, should she wish to, "swap" any gift at the very end,
and she did. She raided Shez's gift which just happened to be her (Christine's) original gift.
All fun and full of laughs.

I was also spoiled and received some lovely Christmas gifts from the others within the "Founding 5" of the Millrose Bloggers Meet.

Top left from Shez, Top right from Barb, Bottom left from Melody and bottom right from Christine.
Thank you ladies, I love all my gifts.

Such a fun filled day.
Thank you everyone for making it so.
hugs Sharon

Today ......

You will find me behind this magical red door :o)

attending

our Christmas gathering.

The swap theme this time around is Red Brolly and being that by now everyone
(including me, because, yes I have scheduled this post) should be at
Millrose chatting and laughing I think it is safe to share what I've made for the swap here :o)

The link for this stitchery design is HERE
I also thought that I would add a handmade Bauble.

I hope the recipient likes them.

Eye Candy and my weekend

All was right in my little world on Friday with the arrival of these two beauties.

Ahhhhhh    :o)
Let's just take a moment to soak in these beauties.
The Bliss Jelly Roll was a lovely find on Ebay.

Over the weekend there was a little Christmas theme.
I spend a little time finishing off some swaps.
I think I'm 1/2 a pincushion off being finished.

Also got these out of the Shed. I think I made them 8 - 9 years ago and have been meaning to give them a little repaint for the last few years. My cute little helper got to giving them a quick sand for me. Hopefully they will get the new paint before December 1st.

We then ventured back inside and I decided it was time to find a home for my new additions to my stash.

This photo (above) is my "happy place".
Oh and I'm still looking for a Ruby Jelly Roll if anyone has one they want to destash :o)
I also love seeing two Bliss Jelly Rolls.  One might have to be opened and played with.

This cutie is growing up so fast. She knew it was here Ballet Teachers Birthday
and asked if we could take her some flowers today, so of course we went and picked some
Roses from our garden.

I made a big mistake today though by opening these.

Yeah, like I was ever going to eat just one! lol

Then spent a little time late today working on my
"The 12 Days of Christmas" Cross stitch.
Slow progress but I have made it to the corner.

Hope you are finding your "Happy Place" and doing something you love.

hugs, Sharon

This week ....

Not very often that I go nearly a week between posts.
Here is an update of what's been happening this week in the sewing department.

I made a new pencil case for Keegan for her return to school Monday.

Term 4 already ..... yikes!
(Sorry if it scares some - including me - but I've added a Christmas countdown
to my blog ..... just over there on the right)

This is a secret squirrel project so this is all I can show at the moment.
It is now finished and will be listed on my OPAM list as "Secret Squirrel 1"

Full reveal will be at a later date. I LOVE it, hope the recipient does.

I've also been slowing working at my Vintage / Liberty Spools Quilt
and can tick another 14 Spool blocks off the to-do list.

I love the birds on this one :o)
(Off track a little here, but.....)
Wednesday night we gave these a go.

The first item I've been tempted to buy from the show (Recipes to Riches) and have since been back to the supermarket to get some for the freezer for our next Pizza night.

This kid loves being in the kitchen.  We are making cookies later today :o)

I've finished another hexie for my Best Friends Forever BOM

Started a new bag .......

  and a Christmas project.

I've also realised that since Football season has finished I don't have a project ready to grab as I run out the door so I've found myself admiring the Tulips in town (Bendigo) between appointments this week.

They were a little wind burnt but still beautiful. Tulips would have to be my favourite flower.

But then when it came to Basketball practice ..............

Yep, taking pictures of your feet is not that exciting! (a good chance to show off my Tat, yes) lol
I think I really need to find a portable project to grab as I run out the door this summer :o)

Hugs Sharon
