Mister Domestic's Aura Blog Party

Today it is my turn to share what I have made with Mister Domestic's fun new fabric range

"Aura"

Aura is the second fabric collection for Matthew with Art Gallery Fabrics.
This collection is inspired by a holiday that Matthew and his daughter had last year to Hawaii and in this collection he has captured the feelings, colours and beauty that that they both experienced.

Photo 'borrowed' from Mister Domestic's IG feed!

My first project is a Hawaiian inspired cushion.

I have taken one of the blocks from Raspberry Spool's BOM rescaled it at 80% and used it for the centre of the cushion.  For the back of the cushion I have used some Art Gallery denim.

Bellow is a photo shoot 'out take' as Anakin clearly wanted in on the action!

Next up I just knew I needed to do some fussy cutting and I am crushing the coral colour of this print.
The pattern for this pincushion can be found in my first book, Quilting on the go ... English Paper Piecing.

A little bling in the middle of my pincushion as every girl deserves a bit of bling :)

To go with the pincushion I have covered a notebook in one of the larger prints, adding a pink cording with a bead and then I made a cute 'Woppet Bucket" and added some detail to the front.

When making the pincushion I colour matched my thread using Aurifil's 80wt thread in #2255

Below is the schedule for the blog party and I highly recommend taking a look as there have been some truly inspiring projects made.
