"Fan Girl Moment"

On Friday I was super excited. I got to spend the day in Ballarat at a class with the one and only
Jen Kingwell.  OMG huge Fan Girl Moment!

We were focusing on the techniques used in Jen's
"The Circle Game" Pattern.

These are the fabrics that I will be playing with for this quilt.
I started by ordering a "Starter Pack" from Amitie Textiles here in Melbounre
and have added some from my stash.

Playing with circles and curves scare me a little like zips do!
Time to conquer these fears :o)

That's me over the back there (white shirt) meeting, at last, IG friend Simone and next to her
Kate who blogs over at "Stitched with Love"  It is so nice to turn online friendships into real life friends.  Cant wait till we meet up again ladies, it will be fun :)

The very talented Jodie aka Ric Rac also had her famous selvage dress, chair and umbrella on show.  I have been wanting to see these marvelous creations in person for so long so now I can tick them off my list.  I'm in awe of their Awesomeness :)

Jen was so kind. She signed her new book for me and also, prior to the day I made up my quilt label for this quilt and Jen was so kind to have signed it for me also.

(just need blogger to flip the pic back for me!)

Since getting home I have managed to cut some pieces but no sewing.

I've been busy in party prep mode this week.
My Baby Girl turned 6 on Thursday so we started with this cake for Thursday night,

I then "upgraded" and I made her this one for today :)

An Ombre Pink, Frozen inspired creation for our little Princess.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl and what a wonderful way to end a busy but perfect week.

Until next time, hugs Sharon xx
