Anyone seen "Cosy"?

Oh my, Lucy over at Attic24 has started a new blanket and a Crochet Along.
The colours are beautiful and inspiring and making me want to dive in head first to this project.

One slight problem,
Its fast approaching to Summer and already we have had some super warm days and its just not practical to start making a blanket right? Not to mention Christmas and the Summer School holidays.

I have spoken to Lucy and got her permission to do a "Down Under Autumn CAL"
So basically the same CAL that she is hosting at the moment but we wont be starting until Autumn (March).  Also huge thank you to Lucy for allowing me to use her stunning photos.

This idea originally started on Instagram and has taken off with many ladies jumping on board so now it time to share it to my Blogging Buddies who may not have seen it over there and want to come and play also.

It is going to be nice and relaxed. Work at your own pace.
It is a lovely pattern which is also great for a beginner and producing stunning results.

Don't you just love how the colours of Autumn are shining through in the yarn.

Lucy is using 15 x 100g balls of  Stylecraft Special DK worked on a 4mm hook.
Finished size will be approx 120cm x 180cm - Single Bed Size.

Iv'e used the Stylecraft Special DK in both my Coastal Ripple and my Sunburst Blanket and love it.

So, if you are interested in playing along in Autumn pop on over HERE and grab your kit (mine shipped for just under $50AUD when I ordered it Friday night and I usually have it here in a week) or start raiding your stash in readiness.  Lucy's Blog can be found HERE.

When we start I will post the relevant links to Lucy's blog here so that you dont have to go looking for them.

Feel free to grab the image below and add it to your sidebar if your going to play along and if you are on Instagram use the hashtag #DUACAL  Also feel free to share with your friends, the more the merrier.

Are you ready to order your supplies and be ready to play?
I know I am so looking forward to it and be sure to let me know if your going to play along.

hugs Sharon

  2. I'm seriously tempted to join you, but I would prefer to do Lucy's Ripple blanket. I'm researching wool options now, because although I love the colours Lucy has used above, I would prefer to use 100% wool (I live in Wellington, NZ). So with a slightly different pattern (from the same designer), and different wool, could I still call myself part of the CAL? I wouldn't be starting until March (Autumn) either.

  3. I won't join in but I wish you the best with it. It will be wonderful working with wool over the cool/cold months. xox

  6. Hi Sharon, wonderful idea for Autumn, but why not encourage crafters to but Australian wool instead of ordering overseas, our farmers are doing it bad, Bendig Woollen Mills in Voctoria have a gorgeous range of wools &!have mail order also. It's just my opinion after travelling through country Victoria 2 weeks ago and seeing how dry our state is already, I believe NSW & Qld are just the same. Keep jobs in Australia!

    1. Fully understand where you are coming from and I even live in Bendigo! No one is obliged at all to order from OS and I personally visit Bendigo Woolen Mills all the time. I do know personally, some times it comes down to the $ not to mention that some people want to duplicate an item exactly. It is just a personal choice and everyone is welcome to choose and use the product of their own choosing
