Today is my turn on the
I can't remember exactly when it was that I stumbled across the Instagram feed of Minki Kim but I do remember being an awe of what I was seeing. I was not sure what it was called or exactly how she was creating the artworks that she was but I was in full admiration of her talent.
With this in mind you can just imagine my excitement when she reached out to see if I might be interested in participating in her Blog Tour for her new book with Kristin Esser.
That excitement turned into slight horror shortly after I sent back my yes email. I had a 'performance anxiety attack' but rest assured, once that book turned up l was at ease and so excited to begin.
This book is so well written. All the tips and projects are so clear and photographed beautifully that I felt excited to get started and playing. All the secrets are shared for achieving great results.
Honestly, any anxiety I had felt was a total overreaction.
My projects.
Have adapted one of the projects to make it mine.
We have a new puppy coming home in the next 10 days so I dove into my stash and found some Pug fabric so I could add our new puppy Elly to my picture and of course I have added a little Bonnie and Camille Jelly Roll tower.
I also have some mini bolts of fabric and a quilt drapped over the ladder.
I have also made some pincushions.
These were so much fun that I may just have a few more traced ready to make more.
They would make the perfect gift for sewing friends so with that in mind I am planning on filling a basket with them for exactly that purpose.
I must say one thing though, this book should really come with a warning because once you get started with your Sewing Illustrations you will be addicted!
