My New Mini

I recently joined a Mini Quilt Swap over on Instagram and this week
I received my amazing mini. Let me share.

Isn't it just AMAZING.
The curved piecing (curved piecing scares me!), the colours and the quilting.
I instantly fell in love.  This came all the way from Shannon in the US.
Shannon's IG name is @piecefulkwilter f you are on Instagram.
Shannon also made me a fabric bowl. How cool are they.
Thank you Shannon xx

I had to rework my Mini Wall a little to help it fit.

It is my "Super Sized Mini" but like Shannon said in her card
"You know us Americans - everything is so BIG"

My partner to send to was Sheila in Canada.
I chose to make her a La Passacaglia Rosette in one of her favourite
fabric ranges "Cotton and Steel".
The Rosette is all Hand pieced (EPP) and then appliqued onto the background
before adding some simple random straight line quilting.

Sheila also has a daughter named Lily so my Lily and I went shopping for extras.
We found a cute Mother and Baby Koala for Lily (Sheila's daughter) and also
packed in some Tim Tams, Violet Crumble, Cherry Ripe and some Vegemite.

I've also signed up for another fun little IG swap this week.

(Registrations are now closed).

When doing a swap on Instagram you then post an inspiration Mosaic for
your partner to help give them an idea of what is catching your eye at the moment.
Here is the mosaic that I posted.

I am also playing in this Swap.

but I didn't have anything in my stash that I thought was suitable for my partner so
I ordered a Layer Cake of the new range "Ambleside". It is so pretty.

I am hoping to start working on my partners Hoop really soon :o)

I am playing in a couple of other IG swaps.
#rainbowminiswap (I'm in Team Blue)
#aussietulapinkswap
#fortheloveofbandcswap (I'm in team #blissblossoms)

As well as a Bonnie and Camille Birthday Swap and our first birthday is this month.

I had better get sewing as it looks like I'm going to be a bit busy :o)

hugs Sharon
